Dominating possession. Thomasson and Morley dominating midfield. Paris his usual self, this time without the once in a while flash in the pan dribble. Need to take him out soon. Backing Ade to score. When we step up the pace we look dangerous. Toal and Santos playing out too slowly and we are a mistake away from going behind. Hopefully we are able to up the tempo in the second half. We will score if we do that.

Pretty much agree with all of this.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Dec 26, 2023 3:52 pmThomason has been absolutely sublime. It’s hard to even describe how good he’s been.
We’ve dominated completely but not made neatly enough chances.
For me front two, Morley and Maghoma are all disappointing. They’ve had some decent service but wasted it up front and Morley and Maghoma have lost it too often.
Can’t afford any let up second half. Have to up the tempo and play for 90 plus to win this. And we need to win it.
Williams done well and JDC stretched them but could do with getting some deliveries in a bit earlier sometimes.
I'm under the impression Morley's ineffectiveness may be a case of the role he's being asked to do in the CDM role. He's just soaking up possession and doing simple passes rather than anything overly special setting off attacks. Maybe he just needs a bit of confidence to find that cutting edge.
As for Maghoma, his drop off has been notable. Talents there definitely, but the applications a bit off at the moment. Maybe he's been somewhat irked by the substitutions from previous matches and that's affecting how he's thinking of the job he has to do. Hard to put a finger on it, but simplifying his game at the moment and settling him down may do him a world of good. I get the impression he could be the one to make the difference here, but odds are given how he's performing he'll likely be subbed for Dempsey.
Hard work from Charles and Adeboyejo not going unnoticed. Good deal of pressing.

Morley has played a couple of nice balls when he’s been able to look forward. Not sure if it is his role or just him that’s stopped it being often enough. Maghoma could be key, he is finding the space..

Whatever happened to Gethin Jones' inverted runs? Seems like that used to be a function of our play but its now only overlaps.

Great refereeing there. Waiting for play to break down and then booking for the foul on Maghoma. Lovely to see he's not disrupting play to deal out a yellow.

Poor start this. Get Gomes warmed up.

Decent effort from Roughan.
JDC and Williams not at their best. Evatt trying to up the tempo from Morley.
Decent effort from Charles to get a corner. Never convinced he was going to bust the net with that one.
Need a moment of magic here. This game is there to be won. Not much between the two sides.

He's not in the squad.

Hate to break it to you, but he's not made the bench.
Iredale, Sheehan, Bod, Forrester, Dempsey, Ashworth, Jerome.

Charles has had three half chances so far. You’d hope he’d bury the next one.

Awful 2nd half performance from us again so far!
Re: Following our star Eastwards. Lincoln City away, Boxing Day 26th Dec 1500 hrs.
The Leyton Orient 2nd half was Awful. This isn't good, but its not bad either. Sort of tepid.
We're not being overrun or really threatened, but we're also not really doing our promotion chances any favours.
I am wondering how much our reliance on JDC and Williams is costing us here. No rotation and fatigue may be a factor. Seems like we're going to see late subs again, which further adds to those levels of drop off.

Pompey losing, Peterborough and Derby both winning so we really need the win here.

It really does feel like a change is due.
Sheehan and Dempsey for Morley and Maghoma, for me.

Can’t say Im very inspired with what’s on the bench. What’s on the pitch is definitely not inspiring either. Get the cheque book out Sharon.

Make the most of this now. Get someone on further forward.

Prior to the Nlundulu injury, the game plan looked pretty much sorted and looked threatening.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Dec 26, 2023 4:27 pmCan’t say Im very inspired with what’s on the bench. What’s on the pitch is definitely not inspiring either. Get the cheque book out Sharon.
Right now, given we're performing as we are, its not overly clear who will be able to come on and make the difference.
None of those on the bench are really known for their goal output so its not like we're sat here thinking super sub territory.
Studs up, straight into the ankle of Morley. Ridiculous tackle. Definitely a red. Lets get Morley off, Sheehan on, play it safe.
Not the first time they've hacked at our players. Dirty.
