A Load of Cobblers. Away to Northampton Sat, 10th Feb.3-0'clock.

Paris shouldn’t be in that starting 11 for me. Doesn’t do enough. A new lovely turns, usually on the halfway line, but anything near the box and he disintegrates. Can’t remember him hitting a ball cleanly since the 7-0 against Exeter (or, in fairness, when he twitted it over late against Barnsley). Dempsey shows so much more.

Really can’t see him dropping either Two-Off Three-On Dion or Vic today. I thought Bod and Collins looked a great partnership off the bench, so no worries there for me.

Interesting on the wing-backs. So glad to see Geth. Provides extra mobility and DCogz, hopefully, can push on.

Looking forward to it after the blueballs on Tuesday. COYW.

Thomason yellow card sweepstake anyone? I’ll have 72 minutes.

So that chat from Evatt regarding Baxter’s injury was a load of bollocks then…

I don't think we'll be seeing wingback rotation in this game – Ogbeta and Dacres-Cogley are out of the 18...

(If necessary, Ireland is cover - could play on the left or come into the back three while Geth covers the right)

Three strikers and Mendes Gomes on the bench

Or they decided not to risk him and give him a bit of extra time to recover fully? :conf:

That is a more reasonable and even-handed assessment. I was channeling my inner Insano.

I reckon they were willing to risk Baxter at Cambridge but have decided to give him another week to recover here - suspect it was always in the plan…

I think it's fair to raise the question when the manager was reported this week as saying “It isn’t going to impact what he does as a keeper," "there is no long-term danger to Nathan, so he wants to carry on," “Nathan’s wrist has settled really well, the swelling has more of less completely gone now, and he is fit to play" and "...Not that Nathan is not fit to play, because he absolutely is"

Again, maybe he is 95% good to play and all the above is legit, it could just be a case of "it's just Northampton so Joel is good enough and we want Nathan to be 100% for the big games coming up".

Of course. Manager's earned the right to pick whatever XI he chooses. But we fans have the right to cock an eyebrow if it goes expressly against what he's said all week.
