We are now at the business end where results are more important than the performance.
Northampton have given the top 6 hope that 2nd can be caught, I think we need to be careful that we aren't. Stevenage will be stinging from the Carlisle draw and will be up for this.
Will we see Baxter and Dion back?
COYWM!!!

Stevenage boss Steve Evans seems quite fired up about our two hundred mile jaunt South Eastwards. Being fired up is what we need to be and taking nothing for granted. Stevenage are still quite handily placed potentially and won't be giving us any Easter eggs except hoping to leave our faces dripping with them . Here's hoping the lads back from globe-trotting are all fit and well as Jones apart, they didn't get called on for international duty. No room for excuses and getting three points is an absolute must if we seek the pinnacle. " Ride boldy ride" the Shade replied, "if you seek Eldorado ", ( Edgar Allen Poe) so come on lads, get boldly riding and reach the top..

According to Evatt they won't feature for this game.DJBlu wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 10:30 amWe are now at the business end where results are more important than the performance.

Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!

Might just be a case of them featuring against Reading.
Either way, the lack of info is just confusing.

Iles certainly seems to be confused by the situation.
I have no idea what’s going on, but the vibes don’t feel particularly encouraging.

This is current era Bolton all over. Morning report ‘signs good for Charles and Baxter’. Few hours later ‘doom’.
It happens all the time. We are told player is coming back then suddenly they aren’t.

Summat off now with Charles - trained with Northern Ireland. Baxter, think they have just been hoping, and he’s out for the season. Either way, doesn’t look good. Need a 1-0 here, can’t see us scoring more than 1.

This will be a new ground for me, which means we're going to lose.
Sorry

Another big pressure game in the run in. We’ve got to win one of these surely? Even statistical odds would say even absolute trash sides would win some of these.

Do you recall us beating Oxford 5-0?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 7:11 pmAnother big pressure game in the run in. We’ve got to win one of these surely? Even statistical odds would say even absolute trash sides would win some of these.

It is strange. Plenty of concerning thoughts on the matter. Is it a repeat of his time at Accy, has he fell out with Evatt, is he injured, are we being extra precautious, are we being safe contractually, in terms of goal bonuses or appearance bonuses? Has he been sold and we're just not playing him due to that?officer_dibble wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 6:48 pmSummat off now with Charles - trained with Northern Ireland. I'd hope it's just that he's injured and we're playing it safe as per the JDB situation. But the thinking then is that its easier to just come out and say that publicly, or at least give some sort of indication that he and Baxter are making progress. It's frustrating.

Oxford are rubbish and it was in front of a small home crowd and a tiny away following.The_Gun wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 7:25 pmDo you recall us beating Oxford 5-0?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 7:11 pmAnother big pressure game in the run in. We all know the sort of pressure games I mean. Wigan, Blackpool, Barnsley. Derby, Stevenage, Posh, Pompey…
These are the big pressure games where you have to perform to get the results.

Beating a fringe playoff team 5-0, live on Sky coming off the back of a bad result… I’d say that we showed up when under some pressure.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 7:48 pmOxford are rubbish and it was in front of a small home crowd and a tiny away following.The_Gun wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 7:25 pmDo you recall us beating Oxford 5-0?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 7:11 pmAnother big pressure game in the run in. There’s just a complete whiff of bull shit around this Charles injury. I don’t like it.Mar wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 7:29 pmIt is strange. Plenty of concerning thoughts on the matter. The Evatt quote, without any context, is “they are not available and that is all I want to say.”
Baxter, I suspect, wouldn’t have been this injured had (a) we been able to bring him off when he was injured and (b) not started him on a thankfully abondoned game the following Tuesday.
Charles…well he has form for not training when not happy I think.

Without knowing any more, it does sound like all is not too "happy-clappy" at the tea party. Surely a definitive reason would be explained without any cloak and dagger stuff. The season ticket holders at least have the right to ask why? Strange...

International breaks are fun aren't they
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Indeed. I'm not wanting to cast aspersions on Charles, but it does very much seem like he was unsettled during the transfer window, whether that be speculation with other clubs, contracts not being given or the fact that we were looking at bringing in Collins.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 8:24 pmCharles…well he has form for not training when not happy I think.
His form dipped and perhaps there was an issue that we've yet to hear about.
Yeah, a better explanation other than 'they are not available' would be nice.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 10:44 pmThe Evatt quote, without any context, is “they are not available and that is all I want to say.”

I don’t think there is any conspiracy. It’s just a manager who knows he’s under a lot of pressure to deliver and key players who aren’t yet fit. Maybe have had setbacks in their recovery. I really have believed for a long time that our sports science and rehab etc leaves an awful lot to be desired.

Based on gut feel or data? How do we compare on this front to our direct peers?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2024 10:03 amI don’t think there is any conspiracy.
