I'm increasingly of the opinion we should part ways in the summer, regardless of the playoffs outcome.
Not a sacking, per se, but he has ambitions higher up. The lack of killer instinct is just chronic.

Barnsley in the fecking play offs. Fantastic.

Too easy for Shrewsbury.
Never going up with this team and Evatt in charge. They think all they have to do is turn up and teams will roll over. The league has been one of the easiest in how long and we've managed to feck it up.
Pathetic.

This is where I get a bit miffed with Evatt sometimes. Chasing a must win game and he leaves our most influential midfielder on the bench and doesn't even use him as a sub. No use saving players for Sat when we need to win tonight. Barring a miracle play-offs it is then.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 9:39 pmThere you go. That was the chance. How have we fecked this up again!

They'll do us at theirs and we'll draw at home.

I don't want him sacked and it'll be mutual consent or him getting poached most likely, but it's so frustrating constantly shooting ourselves in the foot time after time. The constant inflexibility is infuriating.
The best teams, like Pompey this year, find a way to win consistently. We don't.

Not being local, I don't get the benefit of the radio coverage. What's he saying post-match?

It's his stubborness that will ultimitely lose him his job. I'd imagine going in to the board room after losing in the playoffs to Barnsley again won't sit pretty with owners that owe 4 million odd quid to the fans.
He's been backed and he's not delivering. I'd say he has to win the playoffs to keep his job.

I doubt we'll hear it for another 30 odd mins.Jeux sans frontiéres wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 9:51 pmNot being local, I don't get the benefit of the radio coverage. What's he saying post-match?

I mean that was just Wigan, Carlisle, Bristol, Leyton Orient… we’ve not put some shite to bed this season - even when we do score in these games we give the opposition a lift! It’s alright turning in a great performance against Portsmouth but we’ve just made it worthless!
Forester was awful, Iredale wasn’t much better. Thomason was poor, Dempsey was better second half, Charles was worrying though. No hassling, no harrying, he was practically invisible.

We play nice football but that's it, we're too 'nice' to the opposition gifting them chances and not taking our own

I would genuinely be surprised if he wasn’t here regardless of what happens in the play offs. I’m far from confident. Perhaps a collapse would lead to a mutual consent type situation. I would expect some pressure if we didn’t start next season well. And I keep saying it but the league will be stronger next season - Evatt said it himself last week that this is our best chance to go up.

No point scoring two goals and not winning in this league.. Posts, near misses and bad refs are all of no account if we get scored against. "Should have and might have" are just literal language terms. I'll get over it, but I feel sick. Not a Championship display against a team placed 18th in the League table. Only ourselves to blame. Que Sera Sera.
Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?

Teams know how to play against an Evatt side, Evatt doesn't know how to counter it. Tactically inept again.

Was there at a weird angle to it, but that Ogbeta chance… Was it as clear-cut as it appeared to me? Looked like 1. It should’ve been headed and 2. He should’ve followed the header with his full body weight to take anyone on the line with him.
