feck me
First time we’ve lost a home game in the play offs
We didn’t know how to defend the lead in the end. Lost our heads at their equaliser.
Thank feck we didn’t feck it up!

Dunno man, when Cole came on, for me Cosgrave became Toal's and he didn't know what to do with him

Just get to Wembley, they said.
Boy these lads know how to wrench our guts.
One game from promotion. Enjoy tonight and then focus.

I don’t think any of the back three covered themselves in glory. Wing backs defended well enough but Jones Santos and Toal all struggled with Cosgrove. Over both games I think we deserved it but fair feck* to Barnsley they didn’t lie down and made it close - I thought we would turn it on second half but they were quicker all over the park. Fair play.

And thus it was ever going to be. We played it as we had to as long as we had the lead, however slender. Like I said earlier, they were the chasers so how else should we play it? Their plan was as simple as stick big lumps in our box and shove their way into our net. Cosgrove fouled not one but two players when he scored the last, but the ref didn't want to know. I'm being honest now, I no longer know what's a foul and what isn't. Big thanks to Djblu as ever for the couch.

Balance it against what the club's been through and it's understandable to be a bit joyful.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 10:20 pmWell, the players are enjoying it. More than I did! Beers with the fans… still a game to go here lads.

Players spend all their careers dreaming of playing on the big stage at the likes of Wembley. Getting there should be celebrated. Let them enjoy it. Why not

Evatt interestingly humble and downbeat. I don't think he thinks "Job's done" at all.
Let the players have fun, see who wins tomorrow night, then the work starts.

We got there. That's all that matters.
It was an absolute privilege to be in the best atmosphere I've ever experienced at the 'bok. Amazing support.

This is good to hear. The club have made big efforts to make our ground a fortress, and that would really be needed if we get up. (Ironic that we "lost" tonight but it was enough over the two legs.)Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 10:41 pmIt was an absolute privilege to be in the best atmosphere I've ever experienced at the 'bok. We’ve been in a proper tie - with all the noise around Barnsley there was a chance this one petered out at half time - which might have been nice but wouldn’t have been a test. We stood up in those last ten minutes, no doubt. They deserve to celebrate getting to Wembley, and we do as well! Better to have been tested - but the next one will be tougher - can’t afford to make mistakes like we did tonight - Cosgroves doubled his goal tally for the season against us this week. He’s hardly prolific, and we’ve made him look like Ibrahimovic. I’m off to calm down…

Went a bit quiet that last 20! But yeah was mainly up, good support. Can recall a few similar. Ipswich/Bobic game, couple against Arsenal. Atletico home...etc. But best in recent historyHarry Genshaw wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 10:41 pmWe got there. That's all that matters.
