If it's the one I think it is - you need to listen to the whole song - I didn't believe that they were the same song until my mate made me listen to the whole thing - half way through, the penny drops!!

Not sure about the podium bit but the Chain was always used to start the tv coverage when i was a lad......

IMHO a great song from a really really really great album by Fleetwood Mac "Rumors", Rumor has it (gettit ;) ) the album was so good cos the band was in fighting soo much they all wanted to out do each other when writing it...... Dunno if that true but sounds good

You sure you're not talking about the Italian national anthem? ;)

I think you might be right there, fella. I was watching something the other day where it was on about people mistaking the Italian National Anthem for the German one, on the grounds that it's the one that gets played when old Shoemaker wins in his Ferarri.

As regards The Chain by Fleetwood Mac, the section that starts with the bassline leading into the guitar squawk has been used by one of the terrestial TV stations for ages in relation to F1 racing.
May the bridges I burn light your way

In the old days, they used to play "Ode to Joy" prior to the champagne bit and that is quite jolly I suppose what with it being joyous and everything!
