I thought it was probably too much when Leeds paid something like £1m to West Brom for him. That said, he didn't do too badly at Elland Rd. It's just that he strikes me as a decent fizzy pop player but never a PL player at all. Still, no doubt Warnock's about to turn him into a different animal altogether.

On the subject of old Jimmy Jewell at Wigan, it would appear that he's clearly at his best when he's not got any money. Last season he unearthed a couple of gems in terms of Chimbonda and Bullard and devised a counter attacking system that worked superbly, chiefly relying on some breathtaking pace up front. Now, given a few Quid he's gone and tried to replace Jason Roberts with Emile bloody Heskey I can only assume that this means we can expect a change of system next year from the JJB to one that mirrors our own. However, let us not forget that this is the man who, having kept Bradford up for one season, then having been given a few Quid ignored the weaknesses throughout the team and blew the lot on mard-arse Bennito Carbonne.
