Boris for Mayor

The Tories, Tory Boy. Ken Livingstone, for all his faults could never be accused of being a mouthpiece for the Labour Party.communistworkethic wrote:Sorry Labour or Tories?trotter58 wrote:Don't forget that a vote for Boris Johnson is a vote for the Tory Party. Johnson would just be a mouthpiece for the greedy, self-serving, public school tossers.

I hear you. Can't stand half the muppets that work round here. Only live here because my office is in Canary Wharf and saves the commute.enfieldwhite wrote: You know what I mean though, AT. Personally I'd like for the Mayor not to be a political position in that the candidates come from the political parties. The Mayor shopuld be someone that is looking after London and not fitting in with political party policy. Otherwise we may as well just have a Minister for London and be done with it

How about setting Commie loose on Ken and Boris? That'd shake things uptrotter58 wrote:I couldn't agree more but the only candidate who fits that description is John Bird (founder of the Big Issue) and he has got absolutely no chance of winning.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:The Mayor shopuld be someone that is looking after London and not fitting in with political party policy.

What exactly is it you think he'll do that would adversely affect you and benefit the penthouse lot? Just give me an example of the kind of thing you have in mind.enfieldwhite wrote:You know what I mean though, AT. Avote for that prat, irrespective of his political leaning, would be disastrous for me and millions of Londoners who don't earn the type of salary that allows you to live around Canary Wharf.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:I'm not sure it's the job that he's best suited to, but I'd be happy to see a Conservative candidate beat Livingstone, and I think Boris Johnson is a name voters would turn out for.
What we need is someone like David Davies (Shadow Home Secretary) a man who is both eloquent and intellegent.
Not some Quail's egg quaffing bastard child of the union between Michael Foot and Matt Lucas.
i certainly don't earn the kind of salary you seem to be thinking of. I can assure you its relatively cheap compared with ,many other zone 2 areas

I'd quite happily do it except for the fact I couldn't give a flying feck about London and it's inhospitable jellied eel gobbling over-charging inhabitants.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:How about setting Commie loose on Ken and Boris? someone (a prospective tory mp) once suggested I should join the Tory party as I was "just what the party needed". My reply involved explaining that I was unsuitable due to a penchant for fidelity, football and women over the age of 16, not to mention never having been rogered with a hot buttered crumpet.

Not a great fan of Livingstone and would happily turf him out, but not for that great witless oaf Johnson. Fun as a TV gameshow panelist, but that's about the extent of it. The idea of him being in a position of responsibility is frankly terrifying.
"So Mayor Boris, what is your reaction to the latest bombings suspected to be caused by disaffected Muslims?"
Before he even opened his daft flapping crumpet-hole there'd be a stampede out of the city.

Boris is a complete no-hope asswipe. I'm not sure I disagree entirely with "He can't be any worse than what we've got", but that's not a reason to vote Boris either. Muppet Shuffle's don't tend to make life better. Anyone found a policy for Boris yet? Red Ken did say he'd bring congestion charging in last time around etc. etc.
Well he's not the Tory candidate, yet, and only announced that he'd like to be considered a couple of days ago. He is going into a Primary in the coming months, during which time we'll no doubt hear what ideas he and the other shortlisted candidates have for London.Worthy4England wrote:Boris is a complete no-hope asswipe. And a no-hope asswipe? He's an incredibly intelligent individual, and stands a chance at being a very good politician.
He'd be a good politician if he did away with the buffoon image. But he appears to have contrived large parts of his image to come over as 'different.'
At the moment Boris comes across as only being capable of running a bath (and I'm sure he could do better). A city of 11m people needs a large step up in terms of public perception.

Anyone watch Dispatches on Ken Livingstone last night? If you live in London and plan on voting in May, I would suggest you watch it.
Thankfully Channel 4 and the Evening Standard have woken up to the fact that Ken is a criminal, corrupt, alchoholic, socialist loonatic.
