mostly shot in and around Manchester too which is nice, even a few scenes were shot at the ELR station in Bury. Been trying to read up it a bit, not sure if it was a cinema release or made for tv? Garfield won a BAFTA TV Award for it, but it did premier at the Toronto film festival? either way, its frickin ace.General Mannerheim wrote:Started watching 'Boy A' a bit too late last night and the couldnt turn it off!
not sure how i missed it before, but its seriously good. powerful and a bit upsetting too.
Andrew Garfield has gotta be the best young British actor about atm!

Well, that was my joke, but obviously it didn't work on here.Prufrock wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:Just watchinfg Celebrity Masterchef from the other night and it's got Phil Vickery on it. That's a bit unfair innit coz he's a proper chef?
Not the rugby player then?
Sorry.
May the bridges I burn light your way
Re: What are you watching tonight?
I thought it was a joke! Others replying that Phil Vickery the chef being on was cheating made me think it was actually him! Confusing. SO they had the bloke with f*cked up ears on? Did none of them make that joke?

he died in a helicopter crash, they save his brain like robocop but instead of putting it in a robot like robocop they fire him into another dead mans consciousness for 8 minutes a pop and asking him to save the world. simples
good film.
i watched a film called Once. alright but I found all the songs really irritating which kind of defeats the object.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Started to watch Biutiful tonight (Spanish lang, subtitles) - which I think may have been Oscar winner for best foreign film... certainly was shortlisted...
Could not get into it... twitchy after ten mins, departed after thirty... Partner still watching... she obviously gets it... brighter than me in all respects... and a better cook...
And she has just come through and said I should watch it because really, grim as it is, she knows I'd love it... And it's a really good film, don't send it back to LF until I've seen...
OK - looks definitive for me - I'm going to watch it...

I'm trying the Bourne Identity again, cos there's not much else on. Might get the book out again shortly, but just started The Cobra by Frederick Forsythe

Yes - I've read all of Ludlum's books. They're fairly formulaic, but if you like one, chances are you'll like them all.Gary the Enfield wrote:Worthy4England wrote:I'm trying the Bourne Identity again, cos there's not much else on. I watched Black Swan tonight. Utterly gripped. Wonderful acting. Brilliantly shot. Nonsense story at a rational level. But I can forgive that.
Re: What are you watching tonight?
black swan was a grand film. more arty than story but very very good.
