Has a good Sancerre or Chablis ever been found in Morrisons in Harwood?

Our trip to Clitheroe-in-the-rain last Friday led to a little splash at Byrne Bros, my favourite wine shop of any... Amongst other things i bought an 'Everyday Case' at just over £60.00.

Only tried 2 bottles yet, but this is looking like a real interesting case and a brilliant bargain.

I tried an Italian red, perfect for my taste, medium bodied, fruit, lovely with salmon... Yesterday opened a Gascon white, a blend of colombard and ugni blanc and just bursting with scents and beatifully dry...

Can't believe this is averaging out at about a fiver a bottle...

The other good news is free delivery within 30 miles - which i reckon just about includes Bolton...

Anyway, check it out... top recco on the two I've tried so far...

That looks a a damn fine do, William.

Anyway, ohjimmyjimmy's had me craving oily fish and dry white wine all afternoon. So, I've just had crispbreads with cream cheese, smoked salmon, caviar, and some big rascal prawns. All being washed down with a lovely, cold SB from Chile.

Was that for real caviar from the sturgeon, or lumpfish caviar - also excellent - but not the real, real caviar...

I wish I liked SB... my wife loves it, but I've never got it at all... the wife who is, bless her, currently cooking homemade fish cakes served in spicy tomato sauce... My contribution so far has been to open an Italian red on the robust side...

Hard, hard life...

I just ate tesco's everyday value canned chicken soup, washed down with a couple of flagons of the finest Danish lager.

Were great.
