How so?

Today's performance aside, we're rated third best in the world. There's a fag paper between us and the top two as well.

If the wicket gives bowlers little help you see high scores BWFCi. Our reply is on track so far.

So says the rankings. I'm far from convinced.

New Zealand are supposedly ranked 8th but look a lot better than we do.

There was a stat on Sky, I think, I may have misheard but still......

If I heard correctly 'of all bowlers who have bowled at least 1000 deliveries in ODI matches. Jade Dernbach has conceded more runs than anyone'.......

We don't bat well against spin in one dayers. After Anderson and Swann we are scrubbing around for bowlers who can do any sort of a job. To be honest someone who can keep a consistent line and length would help. As it is we spray all over the place. Ok Broad and Finn are missing but I'd not say either as bowlers are ideal in one day cricket.

As for the batting we just make too many mistakes. And for me bringing Trott in at 3 only works some of the time. Sometimes he strangles the innings.

Bell gets out with a wank shot having got himself in.

What a surprise.

I find it best to ignore him. In the last test, apparently, it was a good job that we had a decent attack because our batters were, and I quote, "piss poor".

Perhaps we've just had two off days. But boy have they been off.

Against the '8th best side' in the world supposedly.

I still don't feel entirely comfortable with Bell opening, but so far - so good. A comfortable enough start.

Isn't it a bugger that they're on at the same time? :(

Watched Widnes (32) v Wigan (33) last night. Couldn't believe it was the same two sides that I saw in the 62-4 game a couple of months ago. Felt a bit sorry for Denis Betts.

'Tis a bugger indeed, not switching the rugby off though. Lions getting a good test from Queensland.

Good game so far.

Aye, well Cook's out for 30. Caught behind after wafting at one which was way outside of off stump. Currently 68-1

He's done that a lot in the last few months. Which is quite worrying.

People were criticising bell and trott for playing too conservatively. What tosh, they built a solid platform for the likes of Root, Ravi, Morgan to then play from...sadly the latter hasn't happened yet.

227-6 and Aussie fielding pretty sharp. Giving nothing away.

Yes no maybe.

It looks a decent track, but they've bowled well on it, plenty up to the bat and fairly straight generally.

I'm with Kinto. Bell and Trott got us to a pretty decent position with 15 overs left. Middle has not done well.

That said, if we bowl straight too, then they still have to get 260...

270 needed. All down to the bowlers now. I'm saying we'll have this one.
