Seconded. This is what the Tour De France is all about. Was kind of pulling for Quintana for a bit there as he made such a bold move and was looking so strong. Froome though, with support from his team looked brilliant.

Quintana was great today and realy took the fight to sky, as someone or some teams have to, or they will all just get steamrollered. I hope Quintana continues in this vien as he is a good time trialist as well and hopefully a podium spot beckons for him, but it's still a long way to go.

Unreal riding by Porte and Froome. Big raps to Pete Kennaugh as well - possibly one to watch for the future. Also, Quintana must be the oldest looking 23 year old in the world!

My thoughts too. Must have had a tough paper round. Lots of hills in Columbia don't you know. :D
Hope is what keeps us going.

Very true. Reminds me of an acid trip I had one summer on an island where I had a cabin. Not sure if it helped with my cycling but does bring back some fond memories, no matter how distorted they may be.

Have any of them had their 'works' fall out when they've gone over a cobble yet? :)

Not by Sky though. He can't do it all on his own.

I did an 76 mile ride yesterday and feel like death. I made it all the way up Mow Cop though, so very chuffed!

I looked far worse than that! It's only 25% for that section, but it's about 10-15% on the mile approach to it.

It was bloody awful to be fair..

I used to do it backwards on 72" fixed!

Well done Andy if it's your first time, & much respect. Bit of a grind is that. I still (or used to); prefer the Rake for an all out balls to the wall blast.

I headed over Gun Hill and Wincle after that so needless to say, I'm still feeling it!

I'll give the Rake a try next time I'm up. I usually go somewhere before home games and head to the match afterwards. You can't really beat Rivington for a bit of a challenge and It's only round the corner from the Reebok.

Just watched the highlights. Very difficult to say who was at fault. The rider that went down (Veelers) was dropping back slightly and definitely moved into Cavendish's line. Cavendish took evasive action, but as he went around Veelers, Veelers moved back into Cavendish's line again, who at that point was moving towards Veelers. Cavendish had nowhere to go and knew they'd touch, so braced himself. Veelers didn't expect contact (as Cavendish was coming from behind slightly) so didn't brace himself and consequently went down.

The fact that Cavendish braced himself made it look like he'd gone in to Veelers on purpose.

Cavendish had yet another abrasive interview afterwards where he lost it somewhat, ending up with him snatching a reporter's voice recorder from the reporter's hand.

Meanwhile, Veelers accused Cavendish of causing his fall.

I also don't know enough about sprinting to comment whether Cav was at fault for this crash or not. All hell was breaking loose in that last Km under very windy conditions. Mind you in the articles I read and the quotes and actions attributed to him there is nothing there for me to change my views on St. Cav. I am trying though.

Here are a few more articles.

I think Cav was expecting Veelers to veer into him and give him a shove so gave as much as he was expecting to get.

He could have said that and apologised (he did later say he hoped Veelers was ok).

OPQS lead out keeps making a pigs ear of everything and that doesn't seem to be helping his temper.
