Re: Where are you going tonight?
I generally pitch up when ive nowt better to do, usually on a Monday or Tesday evening and get in the returns queue.. but if you can sort somthing that would be great. Hectic few weeks now though in the run up to crimbo, but definitely plan to see it before the 20th Dec.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:Did you find it funny every single time he said it?! Urgh, I know I'm a miserable bastard but no - not for me.General Mannerheim wrote:I found the maggots in the scrotum stuff hilarious, but i agree the clitoris stuff was taking it a bit far. Didn’t hinder my enjoyment of it tho.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:I nearly came back and said I hoped you went anyway because I was interested in your take on it!General Mannerheim wrote:Well I'm glad i didn't read that earlier or might not have bothered.
I thought it was great. Big foot tapping grin fest. Loved it.
Maybe I'd built it up too much... me and mate went and just looked as each other when they were singing about female circumcision, maggots in that guys scrotum etc and wondered if there was something we were missing. You're not the first to disagree with us.
Matilda, on the other hand, was brilliant.
will make an effort to see Matilda in the next few weeks - have you seen the Commitments? fancy that too... also American Psycho opens next week!
Not seen Commitments yet - I know someone in it, so will be going soon. Let me know if/when you want to go and I'll see if I can sort something.
And yep, will definitely see American Psycho at some point too!

Off to watch Slint at the Albert Hall in Manchester tonight.
Truly outstanding band. Finally in Manchester!

Off to Totnes tomorrow morning for the weekend. Is there anything good in Totnes? No? Ok, then.

Thanks for the tip, bish!
If you see two mid-twenty-somethings slumped in a bar mocking any passing Welsh people (should they have lost the rugby) then please do say hello

am not out that way often - but there's a nice pub in Salcombe (near Hope Cove) called The Fortescue - they also do decent grub...mrkint wrote:I do... iPad spell corrections are annoying.thebish wrote:mrkint wrote:Turns out I'm in kings ridge, not totnes.

Went to watch "Avenged Sevenfold" at the Phones4u arena on saturday. They were disappointingly average at best, all show and no substance. It was all pyrotechnics and lightshow and even included a 10minute guitar solo???
The positive was that the main support band "5 Finger Death Punch" blew Avenged out of the water. One of the best live sets by a band that Ive ever seen

An excellent place for a beer with great food and .... if you have failed to have breakfast ... & maybe not eaten all the day before, then their fish & chips are excellent and fckg HUGE.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Was very much a flying visit so didn't have time to explore much further...hope cove is ice though, and the walks on the coast are lovely. Beautiful views. Went to this pub for a quick one after http://www.staustellbrewery.co.uk/pubs/ ... nchor.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; seemed pleasant enough but as I was nursing a diet coke thanks to a quite staggering hangover couldn't vouch for its food and beer.
This is the place we walked to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolt_Tail" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Made it to Robin Hood on Saturday, Willliam was right it was great fun and my nephew really enjoyed it. Little bugger tried to directly ask the Robin Hood actor why he wasn't a fox as we were on the front row. I thought I'd dealt with the Disney issue beforehand.
I know people were poking fun at William's political subtext comments but they were quite blatant. The Sheriff was Cameronesque in both hairstyle and diction! Would've wound Bruce up no end I bet.
My nephew has reconsidered his capitalist worldview and asked Father Christmas for the complete writings of Noam Chomsky.

I'd probably see most productions at the Royal Court, which is an essential theatre, devoted to the development and production of new plays.
It has been crucial in the development of new voices for the theatre since the 1950s and i've seen some tremendous work there over the last more than thirty years.

I'm at the Almedia, no 6 in the returns queue for American Psycho. It's a pretty cool place, much nicer than them filthy old dives on the west end!
Saving Mr Banks awaits if I'm unsuccessful
This sounds like a really shit Facebook status, but I've little else to do. In fact I feel a little out of place here in that I've got a beer instead of red wine and I haven't got a grubby old novel under my arm...
