See, I've often found Hobos rants to be amusing but always assumed a lot of it was tongue in cheek stuff. This time it was downright offensive and despite the opportunity to withdraw it, he chose to repeat it.
I'm quite sad to see that he's not the quirky harmless nut job I thought he was

Yeah, c'mon hoboh, stop being a dick on this one.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Hoboh has one point worth considering:
There should be no considering anything from that awful rant to be of any 'worth'. That he hasn't been condemned or banned by the moderators for a period in response to the tirade he posted speaks volumes for me.

It's true that Hoboh has excelled himself this time. But if we're going to start banning people for stupid casual trolling, half the site members would be gone.

I wasn't when I first joined, I spoke my mind about football and was banned for apparently being a WUM(basically my opinions didn't agree with all of yours). thankfully the forum is now accepting of people with alternative views.Bruce Rioja wrote:Isn't he entitled to an opinion?Il Pirate wrote:Hoboh has one point worth considering:

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Nice to find so many tolerent people are about
Puskas, you really are something else popping up everytime I post something controversial, get a life.
If you do not like a differing opinion some of you have posted some near the knuckle ones before, then I am sorry but I reckon chucking the terms bigot, racist, etc is a bit rich.
Controversy over, Rubber Neckers, carry on.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I'm not quite angry, more flabbergasted. As my legs and back have deteriorated over the years and I have a few odd jobs around the place needing attention my wife and I decided to obtain a quotation for the work from a licensed tradesman. So we did. He turned up quite smartly, viewed the work involved and then jotted down a quotation on the back of his business card. Nothing wrong so far. The quotes were alarming. I suspect that he thought he'd come across a pair of susceptible pensioners. Here's the list: "ws" indicates where we supply the material.
Install a pet door into one of our flyscreen doors: $250 (ws)
Replace existing flyscreen in back door with new: $100 (ws)
Replace existing flyscreen in front door with new: $100 (ws)
Replace existing flyscreen in one window screen with new: $80 (ws)
Vent pipe re-seal - front: $450
Vent pipe re-seal - rear: $450
Repair one cornice in garage: $350
Fit new toilet roll holder in laundry WC: $60 (ws)
All the 'ws' items are already on my premises. Honestly, some people!

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Tell him to do one. A decent (alluminium) pet door cost me about £30. (It's still fine after five years). I fitted it myself. If your door is flat it's a piece of cake to do..Dujon wrote:I'm not quite angry, more flabbergasted.
