What are you watching tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

It IS crap. Really it is.

'Secrets & Lies' isn't much better. Hope you didn't spend much.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

not seen secrets and lies. Birdman for me was tosh though. amazed at the reviews and hype it received. Proper Emperor's New Clothes.
I've heard your choice in music - I'll make my own mind up thank you, young man.

PS. Pull your fecking trousers up. :D
:D I only offer my advice...I await your opinion on it :)

Forgot to mention. Last night I had a crack at watching The Fast and The Furious. Dear God. I lasted 30 minutes. 'Acting' to a level barely above that of 'porn star' - GCI'd fast cars - a plot..... well, it's an insult to plots everywhere to call it one. A fecking cringe-worthy state of affairs.

I am absolutely stunned that anyone couldn't get on with Birdman. I thought it was not only an excellent, strong tale with superb acting, but (and I'm guessing that some must've missed this) the way that the film is presented as one single scene shot on a single camera, I think, is fecking genius. The amount of takes and re-takes, coupled with how long they must've spent piecing it all together must be staggering. The odd comedy line thrown in for the measure, too. Seriously, you naysayers, what on earth didn't you like about it? :conf:

I didn't like the one camera/shot style. Irritated the he'll out of me after about 15 minutes. Longer for it to change. Also ... I truly didn't care about any of the people. Didn't care if things went right or wrong for them. Dunno, it was a 1:10 for me.

Watched Jersey Boys, a Clint Eastwood offering about the controversial ( apparently true) lives of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. Mainly musical with all their old hits, but a decent story line and an entertaining watch, at least for me.

Missed the first half of the Italy game watching A Little Chaos, directed by and starring (amongst others) Alan Rickman. A wigs and lace period drama based around the court of Louis XIV of France and a gardening project at the Palais of Versailles. Not everybody's cup of team maybe, but I enjoyed it. Rickman, Kate Winslett, Stanley Tucci, Jennifer Ehle and an actor I don't know, Mathias Schoenaherts(sp?) amongst many others. Rickman is magnificently, regally distant as the King and Kate Winslett convincing in the lead role.

For any of you who've ever shown any slight regard for the works of Mike Leigh, Secrets & Lies is an absolute must watch. Real stirring stuff, and as ever, both brilliantly written and superbly well acted out.

Oh boy, what a cracking film. Southpaw, a boxing film that pulls no punches on areas even outside the ring. Don't know whether to award a personal Oscar to Jake Gillenhaal or the little girl who plays his daughter. Superbly acted by all, very much including Forest Whitaker. Watch this one.

just discovered 'Still Game' courtesy of Netflix. never seen it before. pmsl.

also watched a film called Glassland. a very bleak drama about a sons fight to get has alcoholic mother straightened out. they are obviously skint and live a shithole somewhere. i dunno, this used to be the kind of film that was right up my street with the likes of Tyrannaosaur, Nil by mouth, dead mans shoes etc, but lately im wondering why im subjecting myself to this morbid stuff? couldnt wait to stick another episode of Still Game on!

still deserves credit tho tbf. some pretty powerful acting.

Fear The Walking Dead. Could be interesting but the characters are largely irritating which night spoil it.
Also when I was watching it I spilled a fresh brew and scalded the old tadger, which didn't exactly enhance my enjoyment.
