Yes yes yes.bobo the clown wrote:Oh, there's a man called Piers who deserves that even more.Harry Genshaw wrote:I've always quite liked Stuart Hall & hope against hope he is innocent of this.
However, if there's one bloke I'd like to see get banged up for a while - it's the odious c**t that is Max Clifford

I'm not sure about Hall, but P B Shelley came out with "My name is Ozymandias" - it was Horace Smith's version that said "I am Ozymandias".TANGODANCER wrote:Didn't he come out with "I am Ozymandius, king of kings" at one game?Bruce Rioja wrote:I remember Stuart Hall reciting a swathe of Prometheus Unbound by Shelley once instead of giving a match report.

He mentions Ozymandias frequently. That and Kevin Davies' sharpened elbows. The nice person.
Rather ironic given the fallen empires we're experiencing at the moment. Icons of my childhood are in disgrace and it saddens me to think that my nostalgia over the innocent enjoyment of things like Jim'll Fix It and It's A Knockout are now forever tainted by what these sick bastards have perpretrated. Sad really.

'Look down on my works, ye mighty, and despair' does seem to take on something of a new meaning now, yes.Gary the Enfield wrote:Montreal Wanderer wrote:I'm not sure about Hall, but P B Shelley came out with "My name is Ozymandias" - it was Horace Smith's version that said "I am Ozymandias".TANGODANCER wrote:Didn't he come out with "I am Ozymandius, king of kings" at one game?Bruce Rioja wrote:I remember Stuart Hall reciting a swathe of Prometheus Unbound by Shelley once instead of giving a match report.

I notice that my comments about Big Cyril were redacted some weeks ago, presumably by a mod, and yet the allegations grow day by day. I'm thinking we might have to change the office 'Death Sweepstake' this Christmas for a 'Next to be named as a kiddy fiddler sweepstake'. My money's on ****** *****

I'm just wondering when the Met are going to dig up Richard III for the princes in the tower case. They're almost that far back.

So when you hear an owd-codger banging on about 'the good old days', what they basically mean is that it was a lot easier to nonce on children.

I wasn't referencing the quality or quantity of noncing, I was pointing out in an ironic manner the length of time it's taken the old fxckin bill to pull their fingers out, if you'll excuse my turn of phrase.

If it's coming to light after all these years then nobody knew about it, did they?. This I can say without fear or favour, if anybody in our neighbourhood was ever found touching kids sexually, not trial would have been needed, owd codgers or no. If any "owd codgers" were robbed, mugged or assaulted in any way, same would have applied. I was once involved where the golf club activities at Deane were stopped when news got around a young girl had been grabbed nearby. The place emptied and everybody got out and scoured the area. The bloke was caught and handed over to the police. Shame he fell so badly and got all those bruises before they got there mind.as wrote:So when you hear an owd-codger banging on about 'the good old days', what they basically mean is that it was a lot easier to nonce on children.

He was dug up last summer (though not as part of Operation Yewtree). I understand he was bailed until February and told to surrender his passport.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I'm just wondering when the Met are going to dig up Richard III for the princes in the tower case. They're almost that far back.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

There does seem to be a lot of supposition and pre-judgement going on in this thread. There is a law of libel/slander. We are not immune from prosecution. The term 'free speech' does have its limitations.

Not directly related to Savile, but looks like "Fred the Weatherman" has been copped too.

I cannot believe what I've just read about Jim Davidson.
They referred to him as a "comedian"
