I only saw 30 seconds, but he looks like he's got the same doctor as Renee Zellweger.

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Apparently there was a programme on c4 last night about what the 1st 100 days under a Ukip government would be like. I didn't see it but from the number of complaints it's attracted I assume it was less than flattering.

Anyone see it? I'm amazed a mainstream channel could do a hatchet job on one of the main (ish) parties so close to a general election.

I didn't see it but might have a look tonight - it's on 4OD. As for the complaints, it was twice as many people as complained about Rita Ora's low cut top - just to put it in perspective.

Wasn't what I expected, having now watched it. I think it took a hyperbolically over-dramatized view, with a fairly narrow focus (although I could see some of the events it depicted transpiring). It clearly wasn't put out, to give a balanced view...The rules determining what can and can't be done in a pre-election period haven't kicked in yet - it's too far ahead of the election. They have to follow the OFCOM code from the 30th March (Dissolution of Parliament) - prior to 7th May Election...

I just wonder if this approach of rubbishing Ukip by the TV media (the press tend to go quite easy on them imo), is going to backfire? If you keep telling the viewers that voting ukip is a bad thing, they'll be more likely to do it!

Not unless they produce a decent set of policies they won't.
They ain't having mine just based on immigration and EU membership as much as I'm tempted, I want to know what they are going to do about foreign aid, soap tax dodgers, NHS, Trident, the bloody Jocks, Calais, benefits and a host of other things.

(Oh btw I'm back and well tanned and going nowhere near the fight the flab thread :D )

I mean come on he plays games with Putin and it's emerging that in the event of any invasion of Russia nukes were being considered, he's a prick is call me Dave!

Coz they're pointless, shameless election bribes that get thrown out in two months no matter what happens!

That first time buyer ISA is such a terrible idea (I'm definitely getting one).

I thought it was a very reasoned, almost balanced budget. Rather than spend the additional 6 Billion on a pre-election bribe for pensioners or some other large voting group, George has paid it against the national debt. I haven't had a pay rise for 4 years, I'm down by around £130 a month with pension and tax changes, but there's a global context to this which involves 25% unemployment in Spain, 35% in Greece, Portugal allegedly on the brink and the Celtic Tiger seemingly having been shot. Things are bad, but they could get a whole lot worse and under Ed, I'm almost certain they would.
