Maybe they should call it "Not House of Cards" then.
Can't see it on catch up anymore, so will need to wait a while to find out.

The Apprentice. I've worked with the sort of people that go on it. Some have done well, others have crashed and burned.

I do like The Apprentice but the editing is starting to look like The X Factor in that Sugar is made to look like the quick witted expert all the time (don't mention mp3 players) & the contestants are all made to look like dicks. They don't seem to help themselves mind. Good telly thoughBruce Rioja wrote:The Apprentice. I've worked with the sort of people that go on it. Some have done well, others have crashed and burned.

I've never watched a full episode. Must be a generational thing. Just don't find it funny.General Mannerheim wrote:ive never seen Dad's Army

Been out to see FURY. Enjoyed it, it's very BIG and LOUD and should be taken with a few shakes of salt. More popcorn blockbuster than serious war movie. Good tho!

I've never watched DA but RD was great. Still got my late Grandpa's VHS copies of Hancock's Half Hour but not convinced it's worth digging them out!TANGODANCER wrote:^ That and Rising Damp..Bruce Rioja wrote:It is, by far and away. the funniest thing that there's ever been on television, ever! 20:20 on a Saturday evening on BBC1. Doctor Who. A kiddies programme, for feck's sake. Should anyone ever create a 'What I'll Be Avoiding Like The fecking Plague Tonight' thread, I'll paste this across!

Two good films last night; Jimmys Hall & Northern Soul.
Especially enjoyed the location spotting in the latter!

I just got hold of the latter, been looking forward to it for a while. Kermode was raving about it last week on 5live.General Mannerheim wrote:Two good films last night; Jimmys Hall & Northern Soul.

Blimey the flares are enormous!?
The film is on simultaneous release so available on DVD or iTunes as well as at the flicks.
Tbh its got a bit of a ropey storyline but the soundtrack is phenominal.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
just watched a really interesting documentary on Netflix called "Twenty Feet from Stardom" about the history of backing singers... there really were some utterly phenomenal voices in there - not least Lisa Fischer - yet most of them who tried never made it as solo artists...

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Just watched Killing Bono. Funny in places and sad in others - I didn't know that the whole thing's an adaptation of a true story. OK for a Monday evening when you've little else to do. Turned out to be Pete Postlethwaite's last film. In it he plays a gay celebrity photographer superbly well whilst clearly ill.
