I had suspicions about this and more and more I am convinced someone shot it down, maybe accidentally and they are covering it up.

Hang on, you said it was in Somalia. You'll be saying it went east in your next bout of bet-hedgingLost Leopard Spot wrote:and the search in the area that the ships heard the pings finds... (wait for it)... absolutely feck all. Not a sausage.

I still think it flew north, not south.

I'm not entirely surprised that they haven't found it in a vast swathe of ocean. Even if it was there, the chances of not finding it are still higher than finding it. That they haven't found it is conclusive proof of nothing in particular.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

It's conclusive proof they haven't found it where they thought it was. Pretty damn conclusive in my opinion otherwise they'd have said "hang on chaps, we've found it where we thought we would." But they didn't so they haven't which is conclusive as in no other opinion can be reasonably assumed to fit the facts.

Yeh, yeh, I know I mentioned Somalia, but that wasn't my final and immovable stance on the matter. I've also said it flew north not south before now too. And, if later I happen to mention eastwards I believe I have every right under European Human Rights legislation to express that rather improbable opinion. But more to the point if they do find it sunken in the Indian Ocen after having flown south, I'll probably not be found expressing any opinion whatsoever on this thread then. You can call me fickle if you like, but that's how it plays.Bruce Rioja wrote:Hang on, you said it was in Somalia. I'm not surprised even with the latest search equipment being used. The Indian Ocean is difficult place in which to search the ocean bottom. The link refers to two ships sunk in a one-on-one battle in the area in 1941; The HMAS Sydney and a German 'raider' Kormoran.
It took around sixty years of sporadic searching to find them both.

Oh eh, a possible sighting of it on fire by a British sailorwoman. See, if she was sailing from Kochi to Phuket then that'll take here under it's flightpath. So, it possibly is to the north, just like Spotty's said all along
Details here in the Phuket Gazette.

Definitely.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
