Northwest China, Urumchi, Sinkiang, Tibet. Only I don't think PaddyPower are taking any bets - which is a pity as I'd make a fortune.

Re: Malaysia Airlines MH370
Read this morning that they think the flight went on for 7 hours, since last contact.
The 'pings' determine the engines are running, it's height and speed I think and a few other (important) bits like Rudder work for changing course etc. That's probably how they know it went North West for half a day.
Really really odd.. Really.

Re: Malaysia Airlines MH370
I'm guessing it "could have gone north or south" because this satellite must have been on the other side of the planet and those two trajectories are where it could have been to have the 'ping delay' in commuications? I've not seen this explained outright.
I remember reading some family members saying their relatives' phones were ringing and online on whatsapp all sorts during this period, given they'll be iphones and the like surely they can investigate this avenue? The Malaysian government don't seem to have a handle on it in general, mind.

That was also very very odd. Call me old fashioned, but my phone is switched off when I'm on a plane!
The fact that iPhones were still on 3 days after disappearance? Unheard of!

Indeed. Mine runs out after 24 hours. That said, it does retrieve emails every 15 minutes. I also have a 'where's my phone' app, shirley some of the passengers must have this also. Am I being too simplistic?boltonboris wrote:That was also very very odd. Call me old fashioned, but my phone is switched off when I'm on a plane!

Along with no mobile masts are out to sea.One of the many mysteries of the missing MH370 is why, if the plane was indeed hijacked, nobody on board has managed to get a signal to the outside world. There were reports yesterday of calls to some of the mobile phones on board connecting, but not being picked up.
According to an industry source, the missing plane did have onboard telephones in the business class section, but these can be disabled in the same way as the plane's ACARS and transponder tracking systems - meaning it is likely that whoever manually switched these off would have done the same with the phones.
Wi-fi of the sort found in US planes, using a ground-to-orbit system called "Go-go", is not yet available in Asia.

*something something secret US CIA Antartic airforce base and seaport *
add some hollow earth theory and that Greenland Thule Air Base and i've got a cover up of David Ickian proportions.
if wifi cancer doesnt kill me in the meantime , i'll have this figured out by wednesday afternoon.
i've not even got to working out how george bush sr. siphoned away funds for it all. but he probably did it when he was 'ill' in 'hospital' a few months ago.
hmmm

GPS is beamed BY satellites, it's not beamed to them...Bruce Rioja wrote:What about GPS though?Hoboh wrote:Along with no mobile masts are out to sea.Wi-fi of the sort found in US planes, using a ground-to-orbit system called "Go-go", is not yet available in Asia.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
