The English fitness coach has a lot to answer for, IMO. The lot of them looked knackered.
Crouch said they were exhausted which affected the penalties, but Carragher only came on in the last minutes just to take the penalty (though his effort was not as bad as Lamps and Gerrard). It seems to me one should be able to summon up enough energy to put into one kick after a break, even if they stretcher you off afterwards. It's a bit of a lame excuse.

I think that is ludicrous to have a go at Sven for that. With both teams playing for penalties. He put on an experienced and confident penalty taker in Carragher. Can you imagine being Lennon taking a pen, he'd shit himself.

er not quite, they had a list of players worked out before the game based on practice and volunteering. Sven still took lennon off solely to put carragher on for the penalties. Worked out just great, what was Carragher's excuse for his shit penalty? Too tired?
