well im probably in a minority but to me he is an average premiership player at best and isnt anywhere near international standard
ive seen every home game he's played this season and quite a few away games on sky and he hasnt had one decent game yet

It's sheer fcuking incompetence and big club bollocks
Are you saying he's better than Barry?

No Scott Parker has had a good season despite being in a truly wank team.Crouch > Davies wrote:That I don't know (from what I've seen, no) but neither have Scott Parker and Jermaine Jenas, both I believe to be less able than Nolan, and they were in the squad.

Matt Taylor has been doing well at LW at Pompey, for example.communistworkethic wrote:isn't he injured too?CAPSLOCK wrote:No it's notSimmy wrote:as utterly wank as Richardson is, it's his leftwingedness that gets him the call up.

At least is doing better than Richardson, who's not doing at all.
A slap to the face of players that don't wear a big team shirt, imho.

Four rags and four Chelskis out of the XI, and that's without G-Nev. McClaren seems to be continuing the Eriksson model of "as many as possible from as few clubs as possible". You can see why in a way, and Lennon (the Spurs winger not the TW poster) would probably have played if fit, but Downing's inclusion is looking more like tokenism or personal favouritism than inclusivity.
Meanwhile, here's a well-written piece by an old enemy of ours.
