I don't know what Kevin Nolan has got to do to get the nod, I really don't.

That I don't know (from what I've seen, no) but neither have Scott Parker and Jermaine Jenas, both I believe to be less able than Nolan, and they were in the squad.

well im probably in a minority but to me he is an average premiership player at best and isnt anywhere near international standard

ive seen every home game he's played this season and quite a few away games on sky and he hasnt had one decent game yet

No it's not

It's sheer fcuking incompetence and big club bollocks

Are you saying he's better than Barry?
isn't he injured too?

No Scott Parker has had a good season despite being in a truly wank team.

I'm not a fan. Never have been, never will be. Gives the ball away too much for my liking. Admittedly, he will go and try and win it back and more often than not does, but he's not an international footballer IMO.

Matt Taylor has been doing well at LW at Pompey, for example.

At least is doing better than Richardson, who's not doing at all.

A slap to the face of players that don't wear a big team shirt, imho.

Tonight's team members play for:
Tottenham
Man City
Man Utd
Chelsea
Chelsea
Liverpool
Man Utd
Chelsea
Chelsea
Man Utd
Everton

Four rags and four Chelskis out of the XI, and that's without G-Nev. McClaren seems to be continuing the Eriksson model of "as many as possible from as few clubs as possible". You can see why in a way, and Lennon (the Spurs winger not the TW poster) would probably have played if fit, but Downing's inclusion is looking more like tokenism or personal favouritism than inclusivity.

Meanwhile, here's a well-written piece by an old enemy of ours.
