video judge got it spot on, that's what he's there for. The only ones debating it are the blind and those who don't know the rules. Personally, I thought it was no try as soon as I saw it.

Now I'm not exactly the messiah when it comes to rugby rules, but as far as I know he had to be touching the line before he grounded it in order for it to be dissallowed. The pics i've seen show him to have his leg in the air, which i would thus constitute a try. As far as I am aware anywho.

Got it spot on.

Didn't see the game and all I've seen is a rather grainy youtube film, from which it looked pretty close a to if he got his left foot raised before it touched the line.

no, his foot touches the line before the ball is grounded, then when the ball is grounded his foot is airborn. So he was in touch first.

Yep, that was my impression - he was in touch first. The fact that his foot was in the air when the ball was grounded is what seems to have confused matters.
