well then, how did people enjoy their various musical jollies?
Foo Fighters - i was actually a bit disappointed they werent on long enough (bout 1hr 20), and they didnt make it obvious enough that the encore was the encore so we were expecting more and didnt get it
they did randomly get Queen on stage for a song tho, that was really bizarre. and some of the performances were amazing.
couldnt help feeling a bit let down tho, i was expecting better, especially after all i'd heard.
as for support bands, i thought Motorhead were absolute crap, Queens of Stone Age were great and Angels and Airwaves weren't that good and the singer was a complete tit!
having said all that, i stil had a great time - ROCK AND GROHL!

QOTSA and Foos at one gig, man I should have been there! Seen them both play individually, bloody amazing it was - shame that Grohl wasn't drumming for QOTSA and then fronting the Foos both in the same night !!!Gnome wrote:well then, how did people enjoy their various musical jollies?

come on Gnome, I'm no fan of Motorhead but you have to give them credit. You know what Lemmy's vocals are like and they're exactly the same live.Gnome wrote:well then, how did people enjoy their various musical jollies?

QOTSA were quality but I prefer them at smaller gigs where it can get messy down at the front.
and yes the Foos weren't on long enough (local licensing laws) but they had Brian May and Roger Taylor!!!

Crazy and Gertie at Take That
Gertie and Crazy’s big night out!
I know that no one cares particularly…. but the TT concert was amazing!!!!!!
Support from Beverley Knight.. That girl has a healthy pair of lungs
The Sugababes featuring new girl band member. Also included a cover of the Artic Monkeys.
Take That – the coolest fabbiest most gorgeous boys in the planet ever. (These aren’t Crazy’s words BTW).
Another brilliant show, with my favourite parts of the Tango – It only takes a Minute remix. The dancing in the rain for Could it be Magic. The spoof we’re going to make a Boy Band: The boys must be ambiguous about their sexuality, not make friends with each other in case one of them breaks down and has to be removed.. Oooh… But most of all… The Boys MUST Be Pretty… Oh yes!!!!
One of the great parts for me… Relight My Fire featuring the Lovely LULU!! Who appeared out of nowhere and looked amazing !!! She’s drawing her pension for goodness sakes!!! Had a proper Bucks Fizz moment where she whipped her skirt off to be there in corset and hotpants!!! But she looks sooooooo good!!!!!
Finally my favourite part NEVER FORGET complete with fabby fireworks.
Naturally Wee Markie is the cutest boy on this earth and he looked amazing. He said that he couldn’t breathe as he was soooo nervous and he was glad to be back in Manchester and that he wanted to marry me (I may have made one part of this up.)
A great day, lots of screaming and dancing and singing… But enough about Crazy…
Crazy may differ from me totally and may wish to add about the hot girl dancers in PVC hotpants and bikinis – Something to appeal for everyone!!!!
Plus lots of beer (or Vodka Kicks for me!)
I also noted a boy in a BWFC away shirt, however he was a proper boy, about 16 with dark hair and glasses… If you’re on here, I hope you had fun
Yes I know I'm irritating but they can do a great show and I want them Back For Good.

Re: Crazy and Gertie at Take That
If you're here boy, you should be shot, at the very least banned from the Reebok for bringing shame on our club. How dare you wear your wanderers shirt to this travesty!! Did you think it would make you look manly amongst a sea of 30-something screaming harridens and camp jessies?? You were wrong! From now on the men of Bolton will be labelled as nancy-boy Take That fans and it's all your fault. Flogging's too good for you!Gertie wrote:

I'm not embarrassed to admit that I had a cracking time on Saturday - you've never lived until you've experienced the delights of Take That. I was genuinely in two minds about going before but I'm really glad I went now.
Does this mean I'm a woman?
Even the MCFC £3 a go beer didn't spoil the day; it was like a 60,000 person hen night and you know what women are like on those...
Scariest moment for me: Because it was 95% women, the ladies toilets were chokka so they started using the gents which we were still using. You've never lived until you've urinated in front of 50 drunken, baying cackling witches who are scrutinising your every move.
Top dollar entertainment, pure gold. Highly recommended!

Bring it on...you'll not spoil my good mood with abuse today!
One question though..what the hell kind of nightclubs do you frequent where the men have to urinate in front of 50 drunken, baying cackling witches who are scrutinising their every move because I can honestly say I never have been to one of those no. Sounds like a very specialised kind of club to me.

How cute is wee Markie though???? He was totally gorgeous!!!
There were loads of fellas there actually, and some who would give me a run of my money in the Mark Owen fancying stakes with their pink cowboy hats and fluffy bunny ears!!!
Some who were there with their mates looking to pull some drunk hysterical girls... And some who were there with wives and girlfriends who actually secretly enjoyed it all...
I'm totally made up that Crazy had a good time - and that the boys were brilliant gorgeous and talented and made for a great show.
Maybe we could have a TW day out to the next one??
*runs from general abuse and ducks from missles being hurled.*

House clubs mate, though there isnt usually 50. But you always get lasses in the gents toilet (if they can be described as toilets). So youve never seen a lass sat doin her business in a urinal then?CrazyHorse wrote:Ahh whatever.superjohnmcginlay wrote:CrazyHorse wrote:I'm not embarrassed to admit that I had a cracking time on Saturday - you've never lived until you've experienced the delights of Take That. I have as a matter of fact, just the once. It was one of those "just when I thought I'd seen everything" moments. 'twasn't a house club though it was in Maximes in Wigan many years ago. It was (still is?) a rock club and not really my thing but I'll try anything once. Anyway, having seen the lady in question doing her thing in the gents I was promptly punched in the guts by a bouncer and thrown out of the place. I've never been back there since.superjohnmcginlay wrote:House clubs mate, though there isnt usually 50. But you always get lasses in the gents toilet (if they can be described as toilets). Memories, eh!
Anyway, back to Take That....Are we doing Gertie's suggestion of a TW day out thing next time they tour or what?

Perhaps best if we arrange two seperate ones, Mr. Ride a Cock Horse. One to watch Take That for Gertie, you and your pink cowboy hat wearing ilk, travelling on a bicycle with no seat attached, just for you. Then for the rest of us a beer and sandwiches laden coach to a day at the races.CrazyHorse wrote:Anyway, back to Take That....Are we doing Gertie's suggestion of a TW day out thing next time they tour or what?

Crazy - I have recieved an message this morning from Albert Crump, President of the CSLLOA (Chip Shops of Little Lever Operators Association). It reads...
"Dear Comrade Workethic,
It has come to our attention that honorary member 387561-AH56, Horse, C., has attended a public performance by the "Boy Band", Take That. As you will be aware this is in direct contravention of Law 47d "members behaviour", subsection g "acting like a southern jessie". You will note paragraph 3 states, "association with or membership of groups who could be suggested to, or appeal to other groups who, bat for the otherside will not be condoned under any circumstances."
I am sure you will appreciate the difficult position we have been put in by this flagrant disregard of our rules. We have held an emergency meeting of our members and by a unanimous decision we have stripped 387561-AH56, Horse, C., of all rights and privileges afforded members of the CSLLOA. From here on in he will no longer be welcome in our establishments. We trust that you will understand the severity of the punishment is line with the heinous crime committed and serve as a warning to other members who mey be tempted to stray.
Yours fryingly
Albert Crump DRICF"
