A decent start for us. Sitt Ifrica 178 - for 4 after 60 overs.

Can anyone see it? What's the weather like?

Skittle 'em before lunch for no more than 300 and I, for one, am a happy chap.

Indeed. It seems their best performers haven't "performed",so far, so to grab this one would make a lot of us happy.

They reckon that 300 is a pretty good score at the Bullring. We should know whether that's right or not by this time tomorrow.

Rain in the air apparently, so hopefully we can move the ball around a bit. However, of course it'll mean that they can too.

313 all out, so not bad. However, Hales getting out for 1 isn't the greatest of starts for us!

Cook (putting it mildly) is hardly having the best of it right now. He's not particularly leading by example despite being capable of it. 42-2 can be redeemed particularly after an opener went for 1.

Compton gone now. Time will tell but I think we didn't bowl all that well and their score was probably a bit over par for this wicket.

We have a long batting line up so all is not lost but a few need to really perform.

Looking like the wicket's really mattering hugely here. No signs of any 600 innings that's for sure, at least currently. 90-3.

Not brilliant, 90 - 3, but at least it's shaping up to look like a competitive game of cricket with the possibility of a result.

And Taylor goes for 7. 91-4. Bring Ian Bell back.

Root and Stokes have led a good recovery. The wicket looks as though it's started to behave a bit too.

This next session is key.

Balls. Stokes out for 58.

202-for5. This is going to be pretty tight at the turn.

nahh - plenty of batting to come - and a weak and inexperienced bowling attack...
