They are remaking the Dambusters!! FFS sick of all these remakes of classic films (and they are usually worse). I'll likely pass on that one :)

Are they making another Jurassic Park... :?

Who's directing Dambusters by the way? I heard that Peter Jackson wanted to do it at some point (might have ended producing it only)

PD: Is Untouchables: Capone Rising for real or are you pulling my legs?

Aye, can Americans talk like Terry Thomas whilst saying, "Spiffing, jolly good show old chap, bang on what!"

Oh, and just leave "Guns of Navarrone" and "633 Squadron" alone too, if you don't mind..

Well, I saw a trailer for the new Coen Brothers film called No Country For Old Men and it looks like an absolute golden peice of cinema. In the same vein as their darkly comic thrillers Blood Simple and Fargo it's a step back into serious territory after the comedic respite the Coen's went through with The LadyKillers and Intolerable Cruelty.

I bloody can't wait till this comes out, shame i'm gonna have to - Feb 2008!, I've not been to the cinema since Little Miss Sunshine.

It's rumoured that the dog in question won't mind being referred to by its original name when hanging out other black labs.

Guns of Navarone. Columbia Pictures? Gregory Peck, Anthony Quinn, James Darren? Granted it had David Niven and Anthony Quayle, and was filmed in England, but I'd say a joint production at best.

Peck played a New Zealander, Quinn adopted Greek roots and Darren also. Anyway, you left Stanley Baker out and I was more referring to the re-make than nationalities. But if we're talking about American intrusion into other classics:

John Wayne played a Roman Centurion, Heston was El Cid, Douglas was Spartacus and Errol Flynn was Robin Hood. Frank Sinatra was a Spanish shoemaker, Jeffrey Hunter (amongst others) was Jesus (who everyone knows was an Englishman)
and so on and so forth. Anyway, what's all this got to do with old Rainbow the dog? :P

Peter Jackson will be producing:
New Zealand legend Peter Jackson is to produce a remake of DamBusters, based on a Royal Air Force bombing raid on a German dam in World War II, for Universal Pictures and StudioCanal.

The film is partly based on The Dam Busters, a book about the raid by Paul Brickhill, and the 1955 movie made by Associated British Picture Corp.

Christian Rivers, a New Zealander who has worked with Jackson for 17 years, will direct.

Filming of the $50 million project will start next year, the Dominion Post reported today. Jackson may produce Dambusters at his Wellington studio alongside Halo (based on the XBox Game), while Screen International reports parts of the film may be shot in the UK.

His main project though, will be Halo:

Again, due for release in 2008

Untouchables - Capone rising is for rreal.

Niclos cage was due to star as a young Sean Connery, but has recently turned the role down. It's set before the original.

Aye, Transformers and the Bourne Ultimatum may just about save Hollywood in 2007. Yet it will still be the year of the multi million pound flops!

Though I did like Fantastic four 2, and 300 is still the best film I've seen this year.

Errol was born in Australia, moved to England in his 20's and died in Canada I have to reject him as American. In Cecil B. de Mille's the Ten Commandments the only actor with an English accent was God. I suggested Tigger for the dog, but perhaps they could get away with Honkie.

Oddly, Niven played Dusty Miller who in the book was actually American.
