As expected - culpable homicide.

Re: Oscar Pistorius
No idea how she didn't adjudge that he was guilty of the lower murder level, but at least he gets this.
Also, relatively minor overall, ... found not guilty of having the illegal bullets that he .... er ..... well, had.
Now watch for the appeals etc.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Good.
As further punishment I hope he's forced to use the top bunk.

Re: Oscar Pistorius
Once she found that he thought it was an intruder (which, on the evidence I saw, she had no option but to do IMO) the first one was gone. It does seem weird that he didn't get the common-law murder from what I've read. I don't see how you can say you shot four times through a door and didn't foresee a risk that you'd kill someone. I expected her to find that bit made out, but that he might nevertheless get away with it by some sort of reasonable force argument, which wouldn't wash here but might do it countries where guns are legal.
He'll get 7-10 I reckon.

I'm not sure I like Sitt Ifrca's take on the word 'Negligent'. If I've mislaid my keys I consider myself as having been negligent. Not sure I'd pass the same judgement on myself had I discharged a firearm through a door four times whilst full in the knowledge that there's another human being on the other side of it.

Aye, that's more "misunderstood" than negligent...

I'll never understand this. What an absolute travesty.Prufrock wrote:Once she found that he thought it was an intruder (which, on the evidence I saw, she had no option but to do IMO) the first one was gone. The length of time it's taken as well is beyond belief. 4 weeks of character references now before sentencing I believe.

At what point can the prosecution lodge an appeal, after the sentenced is passed?

They could now if they wished but until they know the sentence that's probably premature.Salford Trotter wrote:At what point can the prosecution lodge an appeal, after the sentenced is passed?

Re: Oscar Pistorius
I'd quite enjoy the prosecution appealing. Both against the initial finding and now this pathetic sentence, given all its caveats. The fact that he's a broken as a very broken this in Brokenshire would mean he couldn't afford this farcical legal team next time.
What I truly abhor is that he could be 'released to house arrest' inside 10 months fully released inside 24 months. Then he'll be off writing his book and appearing on celebrity shows.

Just about sums it up with possibly the added bit where she probably ran into the toilet to get away from the prick.clapton is god wrote:

Still, at least he'll now find out what a burglar in the toilet actually sounds like.

They're talking of him being in a special wing, built for sensitive prisoners. It's built for 6, currently only has 1 other in-mate. It won't be like being free, but it's hardly the jail he may have expected.
