Cider, nowt better than sipping a glass of magners in the height of summer, sat outside watching the world pass you by.
nor is there much better than having a thatchers in Ye Olde Man And Scythe, trying to decipher the notes on the wall and watch the staff punish people who light up by spraying them with a super-soaker.

Drink preferences change with age. Nobody loved a good pint of beer better than me, but these days I drink little of it. Been through all the trends and crazy fads of Black Velvets, Scrumpy, bombing shorts into beer etc etc. Done the Pernod sessions and the G&T trail and the Yates's Double Whites and co, and seen good beer replaced with wishy-washy lager everywhere and the good bottled stuff disappear, Target, Red Rose Stout etc. Remember well the Empress nights and Double Diamond and Watneys Red Barrel etc. Always preferred bottled Guinness to draught stuff but never followed trends like Guinness and Blackcurrant (ugh). Seen girls legless off a couple of "Pony's" and "Cherry B's" and men drunk on Babychams.
These days, a nice glass or two of white wine, a Bacardi and Lemonade or Vodca and fresh orange, a snifter or two of decent sherry (don't laugh, most of the stuff is about 17.5% proof compared to your 3's and 4'%'s in lager) and a bottle or two of San Miguel will do nicely. On holiday, I'm partial to a Lumumba or two and usually finish most drink nights with an Irish or French coffee. There you go, that'll do nicely. Ahhhhhhh!
