RUGBY WORLD CUP THREAD

Post by TANGODANCER » Fri Sep 07, 2007 8:25 pm

Anybody watching the first game? Blood everywhere and 200 miles an hour. Argentina have come on by leaps and bounds. Game is a cracker.

I tried, really I did, but I just can't get into rugby, it's so god damned boring.

Ain't nothing boring about this one. Stade de France is on fire and the Argies are leading the Frogs by 17-3 at half time.

Meh

there's no rhythm, they get the ball, pass it, then fall over for 20 secs, then get up, pass it, and fall over again.

Bloody annoying sport - only worth watching for the fights, same as ice hockey.

On the basis of the first sixty minutes, I'd say Gerald Cid has either been training with the French rugby team or coaching them.

Argentina were pure quality ... the match could still be going on right now, and France still wouldn't have crossed the line.

Pity I had £800 on France :(

Role on the Wallabies ...

Oh dear... Farrell at 10 tonight?

I'll be watching in an Irish pub, but I'm bracing myself for a bad defeat.

Yeah I know, and he'll definitely start there... but it's a bit desperate that we're even contemplating playing a guy there who's never played fly half in his life!

Seem to remember Farrell, on occasion, did a lot of the kicking for Wigan in his day after Gregory and Edwards had gone, fairly sure that Catt has filled in at Fly-Half too. Not ideal, but if that's all we got then you gotta use it. Even if Wilko was declared fully fit, they must have had some suspicions that he might not last the tourney given his injury record....

Think you're prolly right DLH...but on occasion, the Bok's have been known not to "turn up" for the odd game here and there...
