What are you watching tonight?

Just watched an old 1961 classic western, Marlon Brando's One-Eyed Jacks. He starred in it with Karl Malden and it was the only film he ever directed. Powerful old film and still enjoyable.

QT. Important questions - obviously on Paris, jihadi atrocities - as they should be. Both mainstream politicians utterly abysmal. andy burnham evasively avoiding saying anything clear and concrete. Tory woman Business Secretary just chirping on like a sparrow that can't land on the right twig 9 times out of ten.

Real clarity came only from the two outsiders Mehdi Hassan - clearly on the left - and long time right wing Daily Mail columnist Max Hastings clearly on the right making a serious effort to answer complex questions.

My sense is that the audience, which may not be representative, was hostile to bombing by the Brits. I hope this is the case.

Caught up with this recently. A judges summing up. I think the implication is that he was possibly a little biased.

The Thorpe Affair was almost beyond satire - but not quite, as Peter Cook proves...

Ha, indeed! "He is a crook. He is a fraud. He is a sponger. He is a whiner. He is a parasite. But of course, he could still be telling the truth".

Unbelievable.

I just watched 'Celebrity Mastermind. Well, who the heck determines who's a celebrity I don't know but I only knew one of them.

More relevantly, of the 60 or so General Knowledge questions asked, one guy got 9 (fair enough) and the other three got 1, 2 & 3. How do these people remember to carry on breathing ?

Was introduced to a show called Nathan for You over the weekend. It's a comedy that takes the mick out of those consumer champion-type programs, where the main guy goes in to help struggling businesses. God it's funny, though some of the best bits are so cringeworthy it's hard not to avert your eyes from the screen.

Saw Black Mass. very dark, very violent! love a gangster flick but was a bit disappointed, seemed really drawn out.

cold and menacing return to form tho from Johnny Depp!

I like all the sweary Irish children. Also, watched In The Name of the Father which I thought was fecking brilliant. Weirdly relevant given recent events to. But sure, let's give the police more investigatory powers...they never abuse them... :conf:

At 9-0'clock on BBC2 I'll be having a look at the latest Mona Lisa controversey amongst the art boffins.
