Apparently (and this is from a highly knowledgeable chap) we need to also check out a couple of Icelandic films called 'Of Horses and Men' and 'Rams'. (So I've ordered them up too )

And also a bunch of stuff by the Finnish director, Aki Kaurismäki.

I enjoyed Rams. It's rather bleak, as is Kaurismäki's work - except for Leningrad Cowboys Go America which is a lot of nonsense/fun.

Started 'Making a murderer' this week. Finished it on binge watching this weekend. Fookin ell. Gripping stuff.

I enjoyed that series. How the hell could they convict someone on such flimsy 'evidence' and then keep him there? Scary stuff.

The story moved on a bit a couple of months ago when Brendan Dassey's conviction was overturned and released. Yet Dassey's coerced statement was pretty much the only thing that got Steven Avery a guilty verdict. Strange case.

Brendan Dassey has been released? I understood he was still inside pending the state appealing the federal court, no?

Rarely has a programme made me so angry and had me shouting at the box like that did!

Now he has been released. Anyone want a bet that he gets arrested for something else in the next month.

9-0' clock on Freeview 32 for me for trip to the Scottish Highlands and a re-watch (not for the first time) of Rob Roy. Okay, you've seen it, but a fair plot, decent acting from Liam Nissan, good action, a cracking sword fight and a top, Oscar deserving performance from Tim Roth as the fop. Will do for me on a wet miserable night..
