Ken Livingstone? He's only had his nose back in the trough for 20 minutes and he's already offended sufferers of depression, the complete arsehole!

Ken was an ACE mayor of London! I say that as someone who lived in London during both his and Boris's reign... Boris was crap!
I was at a dinner at Cardiff University a couple of years ago at which the guest speaker was Sir David Lewis. Let's just say that your opinion and his opinion differ............ wildly!

I've not lived there ... as ypu did ... but the reports I get, from all the spectrum, is that Boris is surprisingly good. Mad as a box of frogs and more than a bit weird but generally felt to be positive.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Proving that in running something like that you can't win for losing. Go green with cycle routes and piss off others in the doing.

Yet .... bizarrely to me ... he's been a big supporter of the black cab drivers and anti-Uber..

Black cab drivers!

Never in the field of human transport was so much owed by so many to so few.

Professional glass half empty merchants, what a miserable bunch of c*nts.

It is also the only town in Britain in which I've been accosted by a prostitute. I was staying at the Liberty Bell at the time. I didn't take her up on her generous offer, before you ask. ;)

Red Ken even did the 'I'm sorry if anyone is offended' rather than 'I'm sorry' on Newsnight.

It's starting to look like 4 years won't be long enough for Labour to get their act together! The country's worse off for having a poor opposition.

I mean Livingstone, McDonnell and the rest of the old Labour ne'er do wells who are determined to throw the New Labour baby out with the bathwater. I was quite pleased with his appointment and hoped for a genuine political alternative. It seems the alternative is going to be old, white and male with very little clue how to operate in the real world.

LITERALLY highway robbery.

When working at Heathrow I went into London one evening and returned on a late tube to the Terminal 4 tube station. Caught a black cab for my 3 mile journey to my hotel and exited £20 the lighter. Apparently there was an after midnight and a solo passenger supplement plus an "it's a day with a 'y' in it" additional cost to add to the "you sound Northern" charge.

The sooner Uber come in & make them get real the better.

Oh .... & "the Knowledge". Get a fckg sat-nav.

They're even in Bolton now. I've used them a few times and it's just so much more convenient.

Hardly ever use black cabs in Bolton. They're well know for being dearer than everybody else, in fairness most of whom are pretty reasonable. Only grouch is:

"How much mate?"...simple enough question.
" What do you normally pay?".....why can't they just say "it's.....£

And in other political news, Johnny Mac now calls fir the disbandment of Mi5 and the de-arming of the Police. Andrew Neil on Daily Politics has just blind sided Diane Abbott, who denied JM held any such views, with a picture of the glorious shadow chancellor holding up an article stating his views as just that. Great TV.

Yes, you CAN feel safer under Labour. Feck knows how though.

They're good men, of principle and we should give them a fair hearing. C'mon man !!

Or, they're theorisers and eejits who you wouldn't let run a co-operative coffee shop.
Shall we have a poll ?

It's 10.5 miles from where I'd normally holler a black cab in Manchester to my front door....They try to charge me a minimum of £38 and often try to get a tenner on top of that when they have a punt at explaining to me that they've just crossed a border into Wigan (yes that'd be the other side of the road then)...Oh and they don't have to take the fare at all as it's outside their area...

Private Hire - £18 for the same trip.
