Re: The Politics Thread
Oh and this new law we passed on the creation of three person babies. I did suggest to the wife that she invite her really horny mate round for a session as it was now the law. It wasn't well received.

Emphasis on the "until modern times" I'm guessing.Astrology was until modern times part of the tradition of medicine

“They are also ignorant, because they never study the subject and just say that it is all to do with what appears in the newspapers, which it is not, and they are deeply prejudiced, and racially prejudiced, which is troubling.” the white c*nt went on to say.

Re: The Politics Thread
I've slagged journos off a fair bit recently, but bravo to this:
"The MP for Bosworth, in Leicestershire, who is a Capricorn and in 2010 paid back £755 he had claimed in expenses for software that used astrology to diagnose medical conditions, told Astrological Journal: “I do believe that astrology and complementary medicine would help take the huge pressure off doctors."
ouch!

Is this the new plans for the NHS? "This life & death surgery you need Mr Genshaw. Would you like a proper surgeon to do it, or can I bring Russell Grant in to have a go?"
"Get your feet off the furniture you Oxbridge tw*t. You're not on a feckin punt now you know"

Similarly this appeared in the Huff Post article:
"It is not known whether Tredinnick's Tuesday horoscope predicted the savage backlash he was about to endure on Twitter."

The treasury to employ an alchemist to restock Britain’s gold reserves.
Genius.

Seems the general qualification to be an MP is a doctorate in being a prick
Re: The Politics Thread
What we stand for
Imagine a political system that puts the public first. Imagine an economy that gives everyone their fair share. Imagine a society capable of supporting everyone’s needs. Imagine a planet protected from the threat of climate change now and for the generations to come.
That’s the world we want to create and we believe we have the means to do it.
By ensuring that everyone has access to a secure job that pays at least the Living Wage we will build an economy that works for the common good, not just the privileged few.
By restoring public services to public hands we will ensure they are run in the interests of the people that use them.
By investing in renewable energy and reducing our reliance on fossil fuels, we will build a stable and sustainable society that protects our planet from climate change.
By building more social rented homes and bringing abandoned buildings back into use we will ensure that everyone has a secure and affordable place to live.
Vote Green and you can help us build a society that works for the Common Good.
About the Green Party
The Green Party believes the politics of the future doesn’t have to look like the politics of the past - something that’s represented not only through our policies but in the way they are developed. Unlike all the other parties, the Green Party is wholly democratic.
Our policy is developed by ordinary members, not just the leadership, and passed at conference to which every member is invited. We believe that by ensuring each individual voice is heard and listened to, we can achieve our goal of building a society and political system that works for the Common Good.

Yes, but imagine the kicking Dave, Nick and Ed will get if they lose lots of votes to them. They wont get in, so worth voting for entertainment valueHoboh wrote:Just read the green mini manifesto!

Re: The Politics Thread
I think the greens recently admitted that they are not really actually running to form a majority government - they basically fessed up to the fact that they are a pressure group who exist to push the labour party to be a bit bolder in their policy formation...
They're a bit like UKIP - pressure groups never form manifestos that look like they could actually be a programme for actual government...

Re: The Politics Thread
A staggeringly good piece of political maneuvering yesterday by the Tories, dividing the Labour party on north and south lines, whilst setting the initiative on the future of the NHS. If it works in Greater Manchester, they get the kudos. If it doesn't, the local Labour politicians take the flak. Meanwhile, they get a another top down re-organisation of the NHS sneakily past an unsuspecting voting public. I don't like George, but by feck I admire his political nous.
Uma mesa para um, faz favor. Obrigado.

So the 'pigs on the farm' are going to launch another raid on the pensions of folk! Do they really want to get elected or is the poor salary of £67,500 with a nice pension plus expenses in opposition enough to keep them happy?
