What are you eating and drinking tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

didn't the smithills coaching house used to give away car stickers (or possibly refund your bill) if you managed to eat their entire mixed grill??

I certainly have memories of car stickers that said summay like..

"I finished the Smithills mixed grill"... I think my fat gut-bucket b-in-l had one... he moved to canada - where breakfast is 104 pancakes with 3 bottles of maple syrup

Well

starters - ham and black pudding terrine - 8/10
mains - lamb rump - 10/10 (had belting cabbage and potatoes too

Didn't manage a pudding, but washed it all down with a few ales

Lovely lovely lovely. Shall return (especially as I didn't realise it was so close to home)

Went to Ashoka (formerly The Crofters) on Friday night. Very, very good indeed. Had a couple of pops apiece, a shami kebab, a sheesh kebab, Chicken aloo saag, split a portion of pilau as well as a keema naan and a garlic naan, a few pints as well, £53 for two of us. Highly recommended.

Try Forts of India in Whitefield, if you like a good curry.

Good prices and excellent food. Highly recommended also.

Ah, my boss, decent fellow that he is, has bought me a present. A bottle of 2006 Chateau D'Eck Pessac Leognan. I won't be drinking it tonight but will buy food to go with it - probably this weekend. Any suggestions?

T-Bone steak Roysters. Brilliant. They'll go perfectly.

They always say steak and chips with Bordeaux. As unoriginal as that sounds. A little suggestion if its medium bodied would be to have lamb or duck or game (garlic, mushrooms, onions go well). Avoid tomatoes at all costs, Cab Sauvignon clashes mightily with them.

I'm assuming its red btw.

I think the element of pleasant surprise joyed me as much as anything. I agree re: Ashoka v Spice Valley although SV certainly isn't all that it was a few years ago. Off to East is East in Manny this weekend - I've heard excellent things about it.

At the moment i can't stop flipping eating. probably cos i'm feeding the twins but i'm just hungry ALL the time. And when they said eat 500 extra calories per baby am sure they didn't mean eat it all in chocolate... Am gonna be a right lard arse at this rate :(

Still, tonight hubby is doing some of the sainsburys bargain deal. For £15 we got drinks 4 J2O bottles, starter - camembert in bread crumbs, main - beef bourguignon, side - cheesy garlic bread, pudding - gu choc puds and a box of chocolate truffle. Not bad value and there was a bit of a choice. Anyway its still cooking and i've already eaten half the box of chocolate truffles...
