Just looked at their sample menu. Fair to say that I'm now looking forward to that far more than I am tomorrowBWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 10:56 amWent not too long after it opened. Stunning. You'll love it.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 10:55 amSee, I'd absolutely no idea it was a chain. Ordinarily, as you know, I avoid them like the plague. I just typed in 'restaurants spinningfields' and that's what popped up first. On saying that, the greatest disappointment of dining life was my 50th at Manchester House, and that most certainly wasn't a chain.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 4:20 pmNah. Its fine. Its just a bland and generic as most chain restaurants are.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 2:37 pmBad experience, Fella?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 1:20 pmBruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 12:34 pmLunch booked at Carluccio's in Spinningfields for Saturday? Anyone been? Any good? New one on me, this one. Picked at random.
Not even the best example of a chain either. But I mean its ok.......

Oh, Mate. For the love of God, don't. Don't ever. I must say that the service was first class. Neither over attentive nor under attentive. Well done them, they should work somewhere better.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 1:20 pmBruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 12:34 pmLunch booked at Carluccio's in Spinningfields for Saturday? The food was fecking awful. Truly awful. How do you get to serve cold mussels with hotter-than-hell cod, on a massive clump of spinach in, what I assume was the water in which they'd boiled the spinach to death, with some tomatoes?
I hoped that the calamari I ordered as a starter might have been cooked sympathetically in a little chilli oil. It was the sort of bread-crumbed, deep-fried guff which one might find at Farmfoods, or the like.
Avoid. At all costs, avoid. It's fecking dreadful.

Pixked up a "Mushroom Pappardelle" in M & S a couple of days ago. Not had it before, but the wife fried up some extra fresh mushroooms and served it up with chips. It was really delicious. I'll be having that again.

Giving Levanter in Rammy another run out tonight. Was bitterly disappointed last time out but have been urged to give it another go, not least by Jay Rayner.
Tapas really is my go-to and I had trouble believing just how poor it was last time.
I'll report back.

Nicked from the music thread....a Spots post....
Put Scott 4 on last night just as the missus was pulling her line caught free range organic fish fingers out of the oven (I'd just done my two minute steak to perfection).[/quote]
Strange creatures women where food is concerned (most things actually). Wife doesn't eat pork, any fish other than cod, chops, chilli, chicken, fried eggs etc, etc. She does all this M & S veggie bake stuff: brocolli, and those tasteless green things (brussels sprouts) spring rolls, pizza as long as it's cheese and onion, tomato etc, while I'm enjoying Chilli con Carne chips and butter beans etc. Tonight, for me, it's Cornish pastie and mushrooms in sauce with a helping of Albert Bartletts deep crinkle cut specials or a couple of hash browns. No Cordon Blue man me, I'd get chucked out of Godon Ramsey's over salt and pepper....

We only ever differ on straight steak. She always has fish fingers and I cook my own two minute steak. Apart from that we eat the same thing.
My brother and his wife however, virtually never eat the same thing.

A few of us went to Nick's on C-O-Rd tonight. Market Menu, plenty of choice on it, three superb courses, £25 a head. And it's a fantastic little place with excellent service too. I really do recommend it.

Yipp. I gave him the full "You're - shit - aaaaaaargh" whilst giving him the wankers. His Mrs nodded her agreement.

I am on vacation on my property in Greece here so for the next 10 days I will eat only local food. My favourite are cretan salad and souvlaki. In general Greek food is really healthy and nice.

Nice try Coodo. Talk football or open banter, not advertising...or out you go...It only takes the press of a button....

Coodo, we always welcome genuine fans here, but including a "Properties for Sale in Greece" link in your first post wasn't the best way to start. If you are a genuine fan, then welcome.

Is there anything better than cold new potatoes (boiled obviously) dipped in fresh mayonnaise! Yum.
