He should've left 10 years ago, IMO.

The writing was on the wall when he let the other talentless idiots start writing songs for Oasis records.

Can't wait to hear his songs again, on a solo album, like he should have done 5 years ago.

Aye, can anything be worse than ten years with loathesome Liam? Never a fan, but if Noel goes, so does any semblance of music.

I said that it was time for him to go his own way when I was stood watching them tour the third album. For me they haven't done a single worthwhile thing since (though I bet that they're fantastic to watch now that they have skilled musicians in tow).

Yeah mine too. Should've split up after Whats the Story, would have finished with 2 out of 2 great albums instead of 2 out of 7! Not as much money though i suppose.

Actually Steve Lamacq was on about this on his show a few weeks ago, he couldn't think of any band that had produced 3 great albums in a row.

Whilst I'm prepared to debate the three 'great Oasis' LPs another day... I suggest SFA as a band who have managed the same feat, presuming we're talking about post 1994 (or else we'd be here all day).

Yeah i suppose it's all subjective, one mans meat etc..

I mean I could suggest that This is my truth...by the Manics isn't a great album but in FD's opinion it is

No right or wrong just something to pass 5 mins on a baking hot August Bank Holiday Sunday.

1968 Beggars Banquet
1969 Let It Bleed
1971 Sticky Fingers
1972 Exile on Main St.

The Rolling Stones. Sure there are others.

Never a fan of Oasis so not concerned that they are breaking up, but I am sure many groups put out 3 great albums in a row although it depends on your taste. I think Springsteen did it in the 70's as well.

:whack:

Some folk need to go sit down with a dictionary, and have a think about what 'great' actually means.

Don't work like that Pru. Not interfering in the thread, but one man's great is another man's grate. . Sky were great for me and made 17 succesful albums. Some here have probably never heard of them.
