Prefer TV units anyways. You need somewhere for your Sky Box etc and a good unit can look neat!Lofthouse Lower wrote:No lads, rental property hence the lack of control I have over smashing things into plaster walls

Re: Where are you going tonight?
I have just decorated my lounge and bought a new huge lazy boy corner couch thing. This poses a problem as if anyone comes round now, we all have to sit in a row along the sofa, so I considered putting the tele on the wall and getting the matching 2 seater to go where the tv unit is. Trouble is we have a fire place in the way, and I wasn’t prepared to stick it high above the mantle and crane my neck to watch it all the time, and she wasn’t prepared to let me rip out the fire place all together and have it mounted at eye level with a sweet unit underneath for all the gubbins, and the wires hidden in the vacant chimney (which would look tremendous imo)! so now if anyone comes round, we don’t invite em in!

was alright actually, food was champion, he made Goulash! although previously, in the company of the same people - eating was cheating,so it felt a little strange. Came to the conclusion i am growing up.
afterwards we played a board game called Articulate, with Jagermeister shots as a forefit.

Re: Where are you going tonight?
one disappointment tho, was half the people fecking off outside for a fag every 10 minutes. seriously, WTF is all that about? you eat a lovely meal then go and light a stinking ciggy up. i dont care what they do to themselves but it ruins the social demographic, the game was interupted, conversations are cut short, then when they come back they are talking about summat else. its the reason i dont go the pub as much these days, sat alone in the boozer, abandonded at the table while everyones outside under the makeshift bus shelter. i hate it. cant wait till its totally outlawed.

Not forgetting that you're then obliged to guard everyone's seat whilst they're gone.General Mannerheim wrote: its the reason i dont go the pub as much these days, sat alone in the boozer, abandonded at the table while everyones outside under the makeshift bus shelter.

At which point, the smokers will probably stop going to the pub altogether and drink at homw, so you'll still be sat with plenty fewer of them.General Mannerheim wrote:cant wait till its totally outlawed.
Then they can move onto the harmful effects of having more that 4 units of alcohol per night and all the anti-social behaviour that goes with it. Can't wait until they totally outlaw booze too.
Then you'll be sat playing patience in your pub - on your tod...

Arsenal fan and cat lover.

Actually, I'm more of a dog person but he's too big to fit on my lap (though to be fair to him, he does try sometimes...) the cats are supposed to be hubbys (it's just they love me more )

and don't you try and change us
Re: Where are you going tonight?
Do you know GG, until your post, I hadn't realised or even given thought to the fact that there are no female posters on here. It's got me wondering why that is. There's a huge age range on here, but from the posts and subjects discussed, I would guess the majority of poster's are (like me), men of a certain age who remember with fondness when slade were top of the charts and an aztec bar would fill you up until tea time and you could buy a bottle of cider at the off licence with a pretend note from your dad. Does anyone have any idea why there are no females on the site? I remember that Natasha girl, but she was a nutter so shouldn't realy count. Would people like to see more females on here? (Apart from the odd picture of some fit bird?). What do you think? Would it be good for The Wanderer, or do people feel they like the site because there are no femmes on it? Perhaps this needs a thread of it's own.
