we're playing the Aussies in a One Dayer...
is actually going OK...
was going great - 90-odd for 4
then Clarke and Hussey started to take it back
but now Hussey is back in the hutch - 194-5 - Yardy at his economical best.....

*Yawns* I didn't even know that there was a competition running, the bish. Incidentally, how do you know about spotty arsed Australians? There are times, my friend, when I worry about you.
Nevertheless, when it comes to Oz versus the M.C.C., I'm strictly neutral, so you'll get no fatuous commentary or sledging from me.

What an utter delight to see all those kids and young people supporting and gettng such pleasure from cricket. Brilliant.
Ricky Ponting, detestable, annoying and tigerishly frustrating as an opponent, but a total cricket legend for me. He should have been English.
Our team, terrific, and Morgan absolutely outstanding. His interview was spot on and totally honest. All in all, fantastic stuff.

The Australians have a test series against Pakistan coming up, ratbert. It's being played in Great Britain due to security concerns in the country scheduled to host it. As I commented to thebish a few posts back, I didn't know that an ODI set was in place. I suspect that Little Green Man was correct when he mentioned money.ratbert wrote:Why are the Aussies here? 20 overs: Aus 91-3
Cameron White edges a snorter from Luke Wright and is brilliantly taken one-handed at full stretch by Craig Kieswetter, only to be greeted by the perpendicular right arm of umpire Nigel Llong, who spotted Luke Wright's front foot was over the popping crease. Comedy and confusion ensues for the free hit as Graeme Swann, stationed at short leg, is ordered off the field for his own safety. The field can't move for a free hit and, with White at the crease, you really don't want to be standing two metres from the bat. Swann sits on the boundary like a naughty child ordered out of class as White swings like Lee Westwood, only to squirt an edge down to third man for a single. Anti-climax, but most definitely a first for me.

You could tell us it was Lancastrian Jimmy Anderson who got him. I expect more from my commentary. Bring back John Arlott.thebish wrote:118-5
