Everybody looks the type, when there's lots of half-arsed wanker statements about his appearance, and newspaper headlines proclaiming him as a peeping tom before he's been charged or even before he's given half the chance to try and clear his name in court.

Now names have been given, the sad, shameful, vulture-like picking has started before any justice can be taken. It's disrespectful to the victim, it's direspectful to her family, it's disrespectful to her friends, it's disrespectful to her colleagues, it's disrespectful to her apparent murderer, and it's disrespectful to anyone else with half a heart and half a brain.

I'm with you Kbb. Freedom of the press is all well and good but with it comes responsibility - something I find somewhat underrated in this country when it comes to situations like the matter here under discussion. Surely the media as a whole can self-regulate to the extent of not reporting names, descriptions and addresses of people required to be interviewed at a police station?

It's just wrong and certainly not fair to the reputation of those innocents involved. There is an very old saying: Mud sticks. Where's the justice in that?

Giving freedom to the press is great. But it's run by sensationalist pricks who care nothing for the well being of the normal person and will use the feedom of press to rip their own family apart to make money.

On the way to the paper shop this morning I saw what looked like a potential terrorist type,(until I realised he was actually a neighbour who wished me a Happy New Year), two potential muggers/drug addicts (until I realised they were just local kids), a potential sex-offender/paedophile (until I realised it was just the old bloke from the bottom who stopped me for a chat), a potential shop-lifter (who turned out to be a very nice Scottish lady who was just perusing which paper to buy) and a really dodgy looking fxcker in an anorak and flat cap, with a dog who could well be a potential killer, (which turned out to be my own reflection in the newsagents door). When I got to the counter an assistant, who could well have been one of those uncooperative types went into the back and gave me her own copy of a magazine they'd run out of in exchange for one I had had to buy instead. To make it worse, as I came out of the shop, the shaven-headed road hog in a BMW slowed down approaching the lights and waved me across the road. Damn, so much for "types".
