Ratscocks!
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Jeez that's unnecessarily complex.

only cos you have misunderstood what's going on! Cis is not a new sense of self with which to identify created for people who have no need to explain themselves - it is merely the opposite of a word invented long ago to define another group of people.

It's not as if there is a shortage of space for new words is there - are they rationed or summat??

If the word proves useful it will survive - like heterosexual did... if it doesn't prove useful , it will soon join a very long list of words no longer used. I don't see any need for anyone to get any of the pants in a twist about it...

as i wrote before - many people didn't see the point of the "heterosexual" - why, we're the normal ones - why do we need a word to explain ourselves... yet - it's a useful word that saves all the time of typing out the sentence "people who are not homosexual" - especially for older folk using mobile phones who might struggle...

As long as fecking and wierdos are still in the dictionary, I'm good with it.

very proud of my daughter...

just had a long conversation with her where she told me how she found one of her housemates at uni sat in the kitchen in a pool of blood having self-harmed with a kitchen knife... it sounds to me like she did all the right things - responded in a caring, professional, rational, non-panicky way... she's a bit shaken (my daughter, that is) but has been wise enough to talk to others about her experience - and to me - so she has support for herself as she continues to support her housemate...

how quickly they grow up, eh? she probably dealt with this much more capably than I would have...

Tell her well done. She's always seemed a level headed kid.

Lovely last couple of days, real short sleeve weather. Got both back lawns mowed today (they've been like sponges up to now) and a mate came and fixed a bathroom overflow problem. If the weather holds tomorrow I'll clean the gutter on the extension and get the strimmer going on the front path strips. Might even mow the front lawn...all being well..

That reminds me. Tickets arrived for Rainbow last week. Well, Ritchie Blackmore and a cobbled together bunch of musos playing the back catalogue (but that's what Rainbow was anyway)

Plus I got an email confirming my tickets would be arriving shortly to watch The Answer at the 100 club. Forgot I'd booked them! :oyea:

Only one date anywhere. Sorry mate, this was sold out months ago, and it's in Birmingham. Never got to see them live and I guess it won't be the same without Bonnet/Dio/Turner fronting but at least Balckmore's there.

My Facebook feed this last week was full of upset folk about ACDC replacing Brian Johnson with Axel Rose. The news was described as having received a mixed reception. The folk I know we're pretty far from mixed over it. Any fans of them on here that are ok with it?
