the daffodils i bought in the village today - its nearly spring.

And i am also happy that i now have a good excuse to eat chocolate as my healthy diet of cabbage has not reacted well with my sons digestion (poor love) so back to the junk food for me

Mine wasn't bad either. Just the one wake up at 4.30am and then they slept til 8am! Can't wait to get a full night again though. I'm wandering round like a zombie most of the time.

Today I am mostly being happy about the fact that the insurance company has agreed to pay me about twice what I thought they would for my stolen bike - in fact - the precise amount that I bought it for three years ago... I'd never have got that much if i had sold it - and it makes up a good portion of the price that I have recently paid for its upgrade - a Honda CB500S... result!

I love my job.

this morning I have spent an hour or so with a bloke burying the ashes of his wife... simple, peaceful, personal ceremony in the shaded corner of an old graveyard - birds singing, woodpecker hammering nearby - then coffee, cake and some reminiscing...

the privilege of my job is being invited into people's lives to share in the most raw and deep moments...
