In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Can you give your first name as Beefheart on any form filling, so we'll know it's you? Well done.Beefheart wrote:Just checking my voicemails and was expecting some dreary work related shit from a colleague or a client, they then said 'Hi Beefheart, I'm from the Pointless team and we've just received your application to appear on the show, please give me a call back to discuss'. This could be my dream coming true!

Good stuff, Bruce! I hope that it's "on song" on the night. Any idea as to the programme?

Ah, now you appear to have made the same assumption that most do whenever I mention Manchester Orchestra to them, Dujon, which is to think that I'm talking about The Halle or the BBC Philharmonic or somesuch. They're actually rock band from Atlanta.Dujon wrote:Good stuff, Bruce! I hope that it's "on song" on the night. Any idea as to the programme?

Re: Today I'm happy about......
Friday saw a visit to the hospital, where a consultant prescribed some tablets. They came with a six page list of potential side effects, from suicidal thoughts to heart attacks, stroke and migraines. I only got really worried when I saw the words 'potential erectile dysfunction' on page 4.
I'm happy I'm not dead, and can report that so far I just feel completely detached from reality, which has made driving much more fun. £8.15 we'll spent.

It seems to be working. I mean, not like it did when I was 33, but I'd still give Archie Panjabi the best 27 seconds she's ever had.CrazyHorse wrote:Yeah but are you suffering from potential side effects on page 4 or not Bob?
Thanks for asking.

There but for the grace of God? It's impossible to argue that, Monty, unless like me you are agnostic on the subject.

Re: Today I'm happy about......
Today I am happy about our provincial election. The party of the incumbent government, which wanted to make Quebec an independent country, wanted to ban languages other than French in many areas, and wanted to forbid public servants (including doctors and teachers) from wearing any noticeable religious symbol, was handed a crushing defeat yesterday. The premier, who had held her seat for some 37 years, lost it.
In terms of religious symbols we were told what was allowed and what was disallowed.
Well, we won't hear about that rubbish for at least four years.

a thing of beauty... should be in the great art thread... (if it were, WtW would be drooling! )
Re: Today I'm happy about......
sissy bar = back rest for a pillion passengerBruce Rioja wrote:The only bit that I understand there is that you're hoping for a dry weekend
saddlebags = I think you can grasp what they are!
no more... = this is not a poseur sports-bike with crappy plastic fairings for wankers!
grumble exhausts = specially adapted (non-standard) exhaust pipes designed to give off a proper throaty grumbling roar that sounds like a dinosaur climaxing - and frightens poor lilly-livered car drivers!
dry weekend = unlikely!

I've been self-employed for 10 years and my tax return has never been sorted before October. I've excelled myself and got it done, dusted and in the post to my accountant today!
