Re: The athletics/running thread
24:46 this morning Finally broke that 25 minute barrier and then some, 40 seconds off my PB. Also about 10 seconds quicker than my PB on a flat course, so need to do that again as I reckon I can get in the 23:30-23:45 region.

You looked to be going well as you came past Raspberry Ripple Corner .
Well done, mate.

Well run Beefy.
Was in Beverley this morning, decided to start steady and keep up a steady rhythm to avoid blowing my load too soon.
Managed to just dip inside my 10k target with 39:54. First race for 3 years so happy with that. 8 pints and 4 Jaeger bombs last night didn't help but got a lovely good luck message this morning from the young lady I met in The Beverley Beaver nightspot!

Re: The athletics/running thread
Cheers guys. Doing interval training sessions with this group at my gym on a Thursday has definitely been helping, and now starting to ramp up my weekly mileage so I still think there are some relatively easy gains to be made.
Re: The athletics/running thread
I'm currently giving the Couch to 5K thing a go. Starting week 5 tonight.
Day 3 this week (20 minute run) is going to be an absolutely killer .
So far I've just been doing it at home (on the spot on an exercise mat), going to get myself a better pair of trainers and migrate to the outdoors. Should at least make the run a little less boring!

First run at Bolton for 5 months. Got around in 29:09 with huge thanks to HG for pacing me around. That's 3 x 5k in the last 6 days in preparation for the Manchester 10k next Sunday.

One of the marshalls was quite rude to me on the way round. Might make an official complaint.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Sat May 20, 2017 6:57 pmThought you were slowing down towards the end until i heard that Marshall say "Looks like rain"Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Sat May 20, 2017 6:29 pmFirst run at Bolton for 5 months. Re: The athletics/running thread
This the parkrun at Leverhulme yeah? And 400+ people, that's crazy!
Definitely giving that a go once I get up to the 5k distances.
Didn't even realize until a couple of weeks ago that the parkrun was there. I literally live 10-15 minutes walk away so pretty ideal for me haha.
Good luck to those doing the 10k next weekend
