I'd be intrigued to find out what exactly a plasma guard is/does if they come with an instruction manual

It means they're waterproof. I'd imagine it'll be an expanded PTFE membrane, or summat very similar.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 10:24 pmI'd be intrigued to find out what exactly a plasma guard is/does if they come with an instruction manual

Another slow 3 miler today. 2nd in 3 days after nothing for about 3 weeks though so progress. Agreed to run with friends twice next week too. So much easier to go out with someone. I will lose this lockdown weight gain!

Why couldn't they just call them waterproof pumps then?Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 11:14 pmIt means they're waterproof. Tsk - they provide a complete barrier against ground dwelling, plasma sucking aliens.

Oh trust me, they won't be getting referred to as being anything other than 'waterproof pumps' by yours trulyAbdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Fri Nov 13, 2020 1:35 pmWhy couldn't they just call them waterproof pumps then?Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 11:14 pm

It’s all road. No mud involved. At least I hope it is! Thanks, I think. Gum shield and scuba diving gear packed!Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 9:15 amEnjoy your run today Guys. All done! 7.5k with some bloody tough climbs. No injuries, just a pair of split pumps. Didn’t rain much either!Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 9:15 amEnjoy your run today Guys. Re: The athletics/running thread
I ran 5 miles tonight. First time since February I have done that distance. Super slow but really pleased with myself. Only set out to do 4 miles but felt ok so we pushed it on. Back out again later in the week for a short one. Hoping twice a week will help with the fitness and my weight!!

Re: The athletics/running thread
Well done lads. Saturday I ran 6 miles round the woods of Trent Park. Got absolutely filthy but great fun. Yesterday I did 13 miles in the piss pouring rain and loved that too. Can't swim at the moment but thought I'd combined both yesterday. Literally wrung out all my clothes.Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 12:35 pmAll done! 7.5k with some bloody tough climbs. 7.53km for me on the same bloody app! Did your extra distance include nipping through the McDonalds ‘run’ through for brekkers? See you over Brangy way on Thursday. Pumps are a size 8. Not quite able to enjoy the luxury of GG’s VAT free trainers!Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 3:50 pm7.76 KM - you're selling us short Nice and flat(ish) track tonight.
