Re: The athletics/running thread
Around 70km on the iron horse today out to Windsor and a bit back. Felt fine apart from the horrible headwinds that seemed to blight the entire journey east. This evening's takeaway curry has sated the appetite.
Nero fiddles while Gordon Burns.

Was supposed to do 50 miles on the bike yesterday but wind and rain meant an indoor ride (26 miles)KeyserSoze wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 10:36 pmAround 70km on the iron horse hitoday out to Windsor and a bit back. Ran in the pissing rain this morning for 15 miles.
Need to do my crunches etc.

Well done BP and GtE. Not feeling very well here but ground them out in case I feel worse tomorrow. Hard going!

When I do my crunches I vary each 10. So 10 normal, 10 right elbow to left knee, 10 left elbow to right knee and repeat. Changes the focus but also engages the obliques.Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 12:19 pmDay 28 - Done!

You’re assuming BP knows his left from his right...

Good idea though, to mix it up. I’ll do that tonight.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Felt easier than yesterday, though easier probably isn’t the right word. Looking forward to the last day tomorrow! Haven’t seen much impact physically, though my diet has been shite. Going to keep it up after this, though not to the higher levels. Started the week with salad and fruit whilst at work. The chicken paprika and dauphinois potatoes for tea were slightly less healthy.
Looking forward to starting on the planking from Thursday!

Whatever happens, I think we should all be chuffed with ourselves for sticking it out.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Just done now. 40 sit ups no problem and 100 squats ok but 100 crunches hard going. Didn’t think I would manage that much at the start of the challenge though so pleased with myself. No washboard stomach sadly but I think I may be a bit more toned.Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Tue Mar 30, 2021 9:40 pmNot yet. Last day injury whilst running. Do I risk it? Done! Squats were quite easy, but sit ups and crunches not so much!
The maths geek in me couldn’t stop myself from adding up how many of each category we’ve done over the month.
Sit Ups - 515
Crunches - 975
Squats - 1,285
Ready for a rest day tomorrow!
No washboard stomach for me either. Telling myself I’m a bit more toned. Bloody should be after all that effort!

Well done. Though given your workings out of pace per mile recently you’ll forgive me if I take your total add ups with a pinch of saltBurnden Paddock wrote: ↑Tue Mar 30, 2021 10:14 pmGooner Girl wrote: ↑Tue Mar 30, 2021 9:45 pmJust done now. 40 sit ups no problem and 100 squats ok but 100 crunches hard going. Touché! I did think to compare myself to Diane Abbott but thought better if it!

A slow 5 miles tonight. Getting to the stage where a longer mileage doesn’t seem so daunting but still not getting much speed.
