Re: Today I'm neither Angry nor Happy about....
I've been busy trying to sort out a care home for my Dad all week, so haven't been on here as much as I'd like. What happened? Did Mrs Bobo get her bacon, eggs and beans on toast? ....or shouldn't I ask?
Hope is what keeps us going.

It's a secret.
But you know Mrs bobo. She usually gets her way.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Article about the queens birthday on bbc, this caught my eye
Absolute freaks. The birthday comes as people begin to gather outside St Mary's Hospital in London in anticipation of the birth of the Queen's newest great-grandchild.
The Duchess of Cambridge is expected to give birth to her and Prince William's second child there later this month, with some fans already waiting as long as two weeks outside the hospital.

Re: Today I'm neither Angry nor Happy about....
For 4 days now, the BBC news has been led by the story of the death of up to 800 migrants off the coast of Libya. Why they are continuing to rehash this story is beyond me, however, this morning Auntie interviewed a Nigerian chap who had fled his village in advance of Boko Haram taking it over. Fair comment, I understand his reasoning. However what I fail to understand is why the Italians are now providing him with shelter and potential refugee status and not just flying him back to Nigeria to the majority part of the country not under BH control. For that matter, why having fled violence and oppression and having arrived in states (Libya and Tunisia) which reflect the religious background of many of the migrants, do they want to leave relative safety and cultural similarity to come to Europe in a leaky, unsafe boat having paid sums that would keep them in relative wealth in those countries?

My 'favourite' one is someone from my old school that lives in Spain, but constantly moans that the UK has gone to pot because of all the foreigners It took some restraint for me to avoid suggesting that Spain has gone to pot because of all the foreigners that live there.

I have a similair experience with a friend in New Zealand. Living in an expat community in a version of 50's England that never was.

Always easier to blame others for your own discontent. Living over here has made me appreciate the UK so much more. Really looking forward to returning to Europe, but no idea when yet.Gary the Enfield wrote:Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:My 'favourite' one is someone from my old school that lives in Spain, but constantly moans that the UK has gone to pot because of all the foreigners It took some restraint for me to avoid suggesting that Spain has gone to pot because of all the foreigners that live there.
