closely followed by Barnsley

I thought Wolverhampton city centre was nice! Roughly a billion times nicer than its shithole neighbour Brum. It was sunny like, but still, even Paris was grim in the rain.

I said it was nice as soon as we got there! Other people's descriptions had left me expecting SHITHOLE.Verbal wrote:And we had won, tbf. But yeah. Better than Digbeth *shudders*
Losing would probably have added greater weight to all the chicken shops we saw afterwards though!
Seven Sisters/Tottenham, shithole. Barbes-Rochechouart in Paris, shithole.

Oh aye. Worked in Bootle for twenty years. Thankfully, went home every night. Back then, Toxteth, Norris Green and Kirby were real ratholes.Harry Genshaw wrote:Nobody been to Liverpool and surrounding areas? Surprised at no mention so far.

The Anchor in Digbeth is one of the best boozers you'll find. Plus there's some good live music venues round there.Verbal wrote:Yep, it's an area of the city.thebish wrote:I thought Digbeth was just a coach station! is there more??Verbal wrote:And we had won, tbf. Have an ex g/f that lived in Walton and another in Old Swan (no, not at the same time ) so spent plenty of time there and always detested both the place and the people.jimbo wrote:Lived there 3 years. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Her Dad worked there. Nicest bloke you've ever met until the night he caught us, well, "under his roof".

Have you been into the city recently? It's changed so much now. I really enjoyed living there around the south of the city in AigburthBruce Rioja wrote:Have an ex g/f that lived in Walton and another in Old Swan (no, not at the same time ) so spent plenty of time there and always detested both the place and the people.jimbo wrote:Lived there 3 years. I have, and it's changed beyond recognition. Doesn't alter my view though. Aigburth does have plenty of character though, and, of course, Liverpool Cricket Club. I could put up with thatjimbo wrote:Have you been into the city recently? It's changed so much now. Re: Crap Towns
I first moved to Wrexham in 1989, but only stayed a few months. I moved back to the area in 2002 and was pleasantly surprised at the improvements that had been made. It was a dump and is now no different to most other small/medium sized towns. There are a lot worse that's for sure.Hoboh wrote:Wrexham ain't that bad actually, tis better tha oursHarry Genshaw wrote:Ahh sorry Bobo. It might well be lovely now.
