Re: General Chit Chat
I'd love to know why three twelve year olds were out on Salford precincts at 9-30 at night taking ecstasy tablets and finishing up dangerously ill in hospital. Wtf were their parents thinking about? Twelve years old?

If I lived in the US I'd want an armoured corp, a detachment of Seals, a dozen f-18's and the odd B-52 to escort me anywhere given that sort of mentality.
Oh I forgot, a couple of Apache attack choppers as well.
You really could not make this up!A proposal by Democrats that would have barred the sale of firearms to all individuals on the terror watch list failed to advance in a 47-53 vote. The Republican amendment, which would have enabled the justice department to delay an individual on the FBI terror watch list from completing a gun purchase for a period of 72 hours, was voted down 53-47. The Republican plan, backed by the NRA, would have required the attorney general to prove to a judge that there was probable cause for the firearm sale to be denied.

It's as well he never refereed Paul Higgins. I'll leave it at that.Worthy4England wrote:Hope he never refs Salford Sunday League...
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I take it that your mother cut your fringe. Sellotape and wallpaper scissors per chance? Looks just like mine did.

Probably my own fault though, as I vividly remember screaming the place down when being taken for a haircut at 'Mad Sid's.

Haha. In AB we had Professor Leach. He had one haircut - short back and sides - and that was it. Mum getting the Sellotape and wallpaper shears out was a blessed relief.Burnden Paddock wrote:Guilty on both counts, or at least my mother was.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:You think that's bad, mine actually used a bowl and the scissors looked awfully like dress maker shearsBruce Rioja wrote:I take it that your mother cut your fringe. I used to go with my old man to Fosters opposite Orlando bridge near Burnden. Bloke called Mario who looked like leo sayer used to do it. Felt proper grown up!Bruce Rioja wrote:Haha. Then again I had very little hair til.i was about 4 and then it started disappearing again at 21 so hairdressers experience was a brief one.

Has anyone tried out Readly, the magazine subscription service? Looks great value at 80 quid for the year and access to 16000 magazines. I spend 20 quid each time I go to an airport in WHSmith. I'm trying to find the catch if there is one?

Not sure if you've saved me a fortune or cost me a fortune, but I've just downloaded Readly now.Bijou Bob wrote:Has anyone tried out Readly, the magazine subscription service? If its anything like Audible, which I have been using for the last 18 months, it will transform my reading habits entirely. I have not read a book since I found Audible but have listened to many more books in that time than I could possibly have read. In ten minutes on the Readly app I have found at least ten mag's that I would at least look at in a month and four that I would definitely normally buy every month. Looking good so far.

Ah, see now you've almost morally obliged me to subscribe Clappers! Actually, isn't there an offer where you send me an invite to subscribe and you get some offer off them? Feel free.
