The group that our business is in, have started an apprenticeship scheme.. Last month they took a 17 year old girl on. she had her first month review yesterday to see how she was finding it and what plans were in place to get more out of her etc...
She opened with "It's not what I want to do. I want to do Marketing or graphic design (not feck UNI FFS!) but my Mum has told me I have to stick it out until I find a better job"
I couldn't fvckin believe it. Imagine saying that to somebody at director and managerial level, who actually do it and have done it for a considerable amount of time?! A complete lack of respect and an embarrassing sense of entitlement.
I would't mind (well, I would), but you can't talk to her without her going red in the cheeks at 17 years old and she wants to do Marketing!
Promptly shown the door. That said it all. Thanks to all the luvies and do gooders and sinister Corbyn types, these pricks think just being born without actually doing anything other than taking brain wash courses at school or Uni entitles them to a living.sense of entitlement
God help us if we ever go to war on a large scale, we will need big walls and machine guns to deal with the spineless deserters.

I find it incredible that a long term back bench mp, who only recently has reached the heights of opposition leader, has had such an influence on the whole of society. Who'd a thought it?

Corbyn's 'people' have been infesting the education system for decades, seriously think they would be in the position they are in today without all the years of underground work? No mistake, they are parasites who feed on the young and gullible and plain stupid.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2017 7:18 amI find it incredible that a long term back bench mp, who only recently has reached the heights of opposition leader, has had such an influence on the whole of society. I'm sure your Andy McNabb would come in just fine. You'd be a hero. And not at all a sad-sack.

bolton boris's story is of an easily embarrassed 17 year old girl misplaced in a job she doesn't want at her mother's insistence telling the truth about how she feels.
It's brilliant how hoboh manages to take from that sinister corbyn supporters infiltrating the educational system to ensure we lose wars.
I've been away from this site for quite a while but it's heartening to see hoboh hasn't lost his knack of digging a hole with a broken spade.
Though he's right about some things. Speaking personally, for decades I infested the university system undermining the Tory view of the world as thoroughly as I could. And the Blair view. Openly. And they let me do it. And gave me a pension at the end.

Anyway being an idealist is one thing, talking to and befriending some highly disreputable and sometimes criminal minorities to further your aim and lust for power and recognition is another.
See these people are letting you down, gloating of victory too early, pushing the slap down and persecution of those non-party line thinkers, revelling in scandals, all before they even have power? Sure way to alienate the majority there are still a lot of us out there that the lefty educationalists failed to brainwash.

Re: General Chit Chat
Two quick ones about Rememberance Sunday:
1. Read in the B.N that the Farnworth and Kearsley branch of the Salvation Army is being closed due to voluntary staff shortage, despite the complaints of the current guy in charge. The area apparently always does well with donations but, the money gets forwarded to the London office where branches can apply for it by application if it is needed? Really?
2. Went to donate and buy a couple of poppies for me and the wife in Farnworth Asda this morning. Smaller ones are by donation (I've always dropped a few bob in any collection tin or appeal even when I've already bought) so, I put a two pound coin down and reached for one of the slightly larger poppies (pure tat in the making, but..) Anyways, the couple on the stall immediately informed me that would be £6. £3 each. I'm seriously doubting that many are going to get sold. and they're cutting their noses off with that move. I'm no scrooge with any charity and particularly the Poppy Fund, but I think that's a bit over the top, especially for pensioners.

Re: General Chit Chat
I no longer see the point of 'poppies'. I understand the need for remembrance, but charity for this is outdated. Veterans shouldn't need charity, just appropriate government compensation/pension/reward.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2017 4:47 pmTwo quick ones about Rememberance Sunday:

I got so sick of the poppy fascism that started a few years ago I just don't bother anymore. If the white ones were more readily available I'd probably get one of those

Luvvies and do-gooders? Thatcherism is to blame. It started the notion of aspiring to be wealthy...and doing relatively little to do so. Yuppy culture. "loadsa money". Its the right that started this idea that people should just be able to "earn money" with relatively little discernible talent.Hoboh wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2017 12:52 amboltonboris wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2017 4:12 pmYoung uns nowadays

The idea that the left are at fault is absolutely ridiculous. You really have no idea what you're on about. Capitalism has given us Simon Cowell. And the X Factor. Not socialism.
Think about that.

How in the name of the blue 4ucking blazes can you blame the ideals of someone who hasn't held office for 27 years for the attitude of a 17 year old? Absolute bollocks there from you.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2017 4:09 pmLuvvies and do-gooders? Thatcherism is to blame. A Sense Of Entitlement is rife in society. Who gives a toss whether it's the fault of Thatcherism, luvvies, or do gooders*?
*it's also telling that you associated luvvies with left wing. In my humble opinion every fckin' luvvie I've come across earns over £100,000. Hardly the Socialist Advance that Chairman Moa led me to believe...
Edit: That was in answer to BWFCi, not Bruce.

My comment was mainly aimed at the girl being thick and thinking she could do whatever she fancies without putting the hard graft in first
Didn't think it would spiral!!

Re: General Chit Chat
Just a quick mention of two scams currently droning around for victims. You probably won't fall for them, but...
One is the cavity wall issue, where by phone calls and cold call door-knockers want you to claim if you have had cavity wall filling done, privately or by the government. Basically, they want you to sign up and fill in claims against various bodies for compen. Google the Cacity wall isues, or such like and you'll be advised to ignore it. Check it out online if you're unsure.
Scam 2 is e-mails supposedly from Amazon to get you to open a spam link that can access your private details. Ignore and don't open. Again, the scam can be checked online.
Just thought I'd mention them...

Stupendously bored at work today - doing repetitive mind numbing data edits. So bored I composed a countdown calculator on a spreadsheet to track how long I've got left before I retire. Stuck the spreadsheet on my desktop: when I open it, it currently shows that after today I have 1393 days until Retirement, of which 508 will be Work Days. Got another hour before I go home in which I might try and add a little macro into the spreadsheet to calculate an estimate of the weight of dog faeces that I will have bagged and binned since I started the countdown to Retirement (split into Work Day weight and Off-Day weight), such that as the countdown of days left at work goes down the weight of shit increases. Apt, I feel.
