I hope everything well for your wife, Tango. My mother-in-law had a similar knee of back in June. Although she still suffers from pain, she said it was 10 times better than it was before.

TD, you mean general! Local would be awake. General would be asleep. Anyhow, good luck to her.TANGODANCER wrote:Thanks, although I'm not sure she's joking when she say no local, no op and she'll get dressed and come home. Fingers crossed, although just me and the dog for three days ain't too delightful a thought as all he knows is eat, sleep, play and go for walks.Bruce Rioja wrote:
Ah, I see. You've taught me something there. This big wuss always insists on being knocked out when they start having a mooch around in me. I wish her all the very best, Tango.
Personally if it were me, I'd want to avoid going to sleep at all costs, risks are higher and also makes you feel like shit. I'd be going for the local with a load of sedatives option myself!
Re: General Chit Chat
All the best to you both Tango.
I found after the second attempt at putting the needle in for the epidural hit another nerve, that put me somewhere near the ceiling, a general was preferable and taken.
As long as there is no history with chest problems generals are fine, Morphine is ace, wait for the button to light, press and sleep

Just rung up, she's out of surgery and all well. I'll be going in at 6-0'clock. Thanks for the good wishes. Now for at least a week of playing Jeeves...

Just got back from visiting Monty. Lots of arm brusises from injections, and she had the Epidural anaesthetic in the end but said it was fine. One of the nurses loaned her a music device and she heard and felt nothing.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Any update, Jeeves?TANGODANCER wrote:Just rung up, she's out of surgery and all well. Last night when I went in she had been sick, couldn't keep food down, was out of it all, and just wanted to sleep. Better today but not eating fully yet. The physios are already on the job of exercising, they sure don't mess about but that's their job so....I'm going back tonight with my daughter and I think it's just time. She wants to be talking out but I can't see it before weekend. Thanks for the asking.....

Will be the epidural. Ultimately I don't know whether she could move or not, but the less you move after an eipdural the worse the nausea can be. Sounds like she's on the road to recovery though.TANGODANCER wrote:Just got back from visiting Monty. Re: General Chit Chat
Had a trial stair-climb this am and came through okay. I'll be with her on any stair jobs for a while anyway. One or two things to check but she may even get released today (fingers crossed). Got to go now as I hear the washing machine finish and the dog is asking if it's time for his dinner-time walk. I've already done one, been to the shop, fed him and am having my first brew. Visiting at 2-0, busy old life.....She has to keep exercising but the good news is I've noticed that Zimmer thingy is the same height as the lawn mower at home, , so.....

She may be a tad slow to recover but our Tango will be fit as a fiddle! Keep up the good work.Gary the Enfield wrote:TANGODANCER wrote:Had a trial stair-climb this am and came through okay. Quick heads-up for anyone that needs to travel anywhere. A colleague's just messaged me to say that Travelex at the airport are currently only offering €0.99 to the £1.00, so don't buy your currency at the airport (which is generally just sound advice anyway).

Think 8t's as low as 88 cents in some places. ..Bruce Rioja wrote:Quick heads-up for anyone that needs to travel anywhere. Re: General Chit Chat
Last night of the bachelor life (she's out tomorrow), so it's chicken Provencal in all sort of exotic sounding saucy bits, and Aunt Bessies finest tonight. ( oh, and a sprinkling of the wife's home made pickles). Very fortunately I have my se-scout badges in removing sleeves, piercing films and setting ovens at the right temperature. All about timing....Bon appetit....

Quite why you'd want to leave these shores now that we've got our country back and expelled every last Johnny Foreigner is beyond me.Bruce Rioja wrote:Quick heads-up for anyone that needs to travel anywhere. Well you say that, but what could be more patriotic and healthy than staying put and tucking into a Ginster's Pepper Steak Slice?Bruce Rioja wrote:Foreign foodLittle Green Man wrote:Quite why you'd want to leave these shores now that we've got our country back and expelled every last Johnny Foreigner is beyond me.Bruce Rioja wrote:Quick heads-up for anyone that needs to travel anywhere.
